  • Attempted to go in the wardrobe, but that's a real all day job, did find a huge envelope with all the Christmas receipts in so that's one thing.

But am happy with acheivements so far this weekend.

Five books and a cardigan from my Mum

    Out

Three carrier bags full of assorted paper/card/tins and a cardboard box into recycling bin

Old pair of OH's slouching about trousers cut up into rags

Cap from OH's old work binned - had company logo on, so nobody else would want it

Plastic fruit!?! Into bin. Have no idea where this came from or what you would use plastic fruit for - I definitely didn't bring it into the house and OH also denies acquiring it!

    Pending Out

Two tops and two books into charity bag - bag is now full, but I won't be able to get to the charity shop until Saturday

    Hi

Things going slowly, but definitely more going out than is coming in :T

    Consveratory done :T
    Living room done :T
    Our bedroom done :T

Still some bedrooms that I can't face, but today DH started to move things out of the garage :T

We are also finding a few treasures that are being listed on Ebay

Well done everyone, keep up the good work
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • Hi Guys

Been a while since I posted on here - have been lurking and getting on with the decluttering with you guys as motivation :)

Well done to everyone - you've all had a really productive Bank Hol by the looks of things - so congrats !

    This weekend:

    Out:

    Printer
    Computer Monitor
    Computer CPU
    Microwave
    Keys for parents old house

    In

    Cheese :)
    Milk

    Pending:

    Library books to return
    3 Ebay items sold :)

think I'll spend an hour or so tonight having a little sift through some more piles around the house before bed..so perhaps find a little more....

I swear though....I've got rid of bags and bags of "stuff" via ebay, freecycle, recycling etc...but I can't see where the extra space is :s..

    I don't understand it :S

Suddenly, we decided to buy a house and think we have seen the one for us. The whole process took less than 2 weeks. Arghhh, so now I have to do the big de-clutter all over again, after living here comfortably for 5 years

Yesterday, I listed 14 items on ebay and 4 on amazon. Two sold already. I photographed at least 30 lots ready to list. ALL my card stamping stuff is going at bargain prices because I haven`t used them for 4 years. Wish me luck folks as it is all pretty daunting just now

I do have things to give to the charity shop today too and some lucky people will benefit. That will include a pristine high chair, only used lightly for a grandchild and a fold up travel cot plus lots of newish things

We haven`t even seen the house in the flesh yet but my gut feeling and intuition are working overtime.
  • Kittie, hope it is what you feel it is. I'm big on gut feelings so all the best for it.

Back to work - after my Marathon de-clutter on Sunday, I got rid of a few more bits yesterday morning before spending the afternoon chilling out (DS with Dad Youth Hostelling). Can't understand how the house still looks quite untidy though :rotfl:.

    IN
    Nothing
    OUT
    Outgrown boots - CS
    Outgrown school trousers - CS
    Book - CS
    2 X Pillows - recycing

IN & STRAIGHT OUT - Gorgeous Roberts Revival DAB Radio - gift for someone in work who has clocked up 30 years in organisation  - wish this particular item was cluttering up my house.

    Best Wishes All .... :)

Wow, everyone has been really busy! Love the pictures too!

freakyogre - how do you organise your paperwork, bills etc? I find this really hard and never keep on top of things. So any tips (what organisers you use or methods) are welcome.

For those finding it hard to see a difference, it's taken me to get rid of over 500 things (and those things include furniture) to only just begin to see a difference. Still a way to go. So to keep spirits up go for things that are easily noticeable - eg window sill or hallway, that sort of thing.

May try and find 25 things today. Again! I'm getting a real buzz at seeing stuff go, and seeing space appear.

    Out:
1 x t-shirt (loved one's, shh dont tell him!) (charity)
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Just quickly running by - drinking a post lunch coffee (I know very early but I must get on!) - lovely sunny day which motivates me to get rid of stuff. Like many others my INs have been mainly food while OUT OUT OUT has gone bags and boxes to charity, recycle and bin but I am not overwhealmed by acres of space (mind you I did have a shock to discover a totally empty drawer yesterday ... never had that before). Stll must continue - I think the sunshine helps (maybe in gloom you feel the need of a comfort blanky of things to cling to in case of emergency).
So I am starting my 25 in 24hrs and hanging on to a very positive attitude brought on by sunshine, talk of the campervan and world travel ...Oooooo
