    99. DD1's birthday cards!
100 . Very catalogue from last year

    Woohoo!! Done!!!!

Yesterday was day 9 so leaves day 10 with nothing to do which is good as i am feeling incredibly poorly :( woe is me!

I am going to start my 100 in 10 days again on saturday as i know i wont have chance to do anything tomorrow!

Well done to everyone else who has finished or has just managed to make a good dent.

Stood behind a lady in the bank the other day who told the cashier she was starting a business along the lines of organising and decluttering! Wonder how that would go.

    Happy Thursday everyone xxx

  • Well done everyone! I managed to alleviate the house of 18 packing boxes, 3 large bags of bubblewrap and a roll of bubble wrap last night.

Its bin day tomorrow so theres half a wheelie bin of rubbish and a load of cans.bottles.jars.paper.card going off to recycling. Mr WT is off to the dump on Saturday morning with what used to be a fitted wardrobe that we dismantled last weekend.

Whilst unpacking more stuff, I managed to sort out all me undies and threw out several pairs of knicks and a few bras that were past their best, whilst filling up the bedroom chests of drawers.

Packaging from the new sitting room and study curtains have also been thrown out / recycled.

    55-61. 7 x Saucepans to a freecycler.
    62. Bath cream, dispensed into hand pump, bottle recycled
    63. Post, relates to work, so taken to work, outta the house!
    64. library book, to return to library
    65. library book, another one, to return to library

    So that's another 11 things gone. Woo-hoo!

I reached 65/100. So will draw a line under that challenge and take a little rest. I know I didn't push that hard but will chill for a day or so then think of a new challenge for myself.

Like others have said you think 100 items are a lot until you get going! Well done everyone on such fab decluttering. :T Hopefully the money earned via ebay will come in real handy and the charity shops will be really grateful for the stuff. :A

Hey, loopychriss - see what you've done! You've set a trend on this thread - you are the brainchild of clear 100 things in 10 days. We bow to you! :A
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

    Evening all.....

I think we have all done really well with this challenge whether we have reached the 100 items or not. All that matters is that we have cleared lots of clutter from our homes and have helped each other along the way which is what this thread is all about. I think we should give ourselves a pat on the back :T for our achievements!!

Likewise I had considered giving up but I'm determined to reach the target of 100 items so....

    71. Ebay sale - will post tomorrow
    72. Ebay sale - awaiting payment
    73. £3.26 worth of coppers taken to money counting machine in supermarket I used the money towards some food bits and chocolate for me :p
    74. Freebie local papers; recycled
    75. Pair of knickers; too small so bin :o
    76. Old flannel; bin
    77. 2008 Diary  - recycled
    78. Business cards from my old job - recycled :(
    79. Old receipts from purse; recycled
    80. Cider & beer bottles from a drink with OH this evening - recycling.

    :D

Just realised I now have 20 things to get rid of tomorrow if I'm going to achieve my 100 in 10 days (missed out last Sat / Sun had break from de-cluttering).....

Can I do it, that's the question?!?!?!?

Haven't posted since Monday so to bring me up to date:

    IN
DVD for DS (likely to be out again really soon as it was pretty rubbish)
Hat from Ebay - absolutely gorgeous & a real bargain
    T Shirt & trousers - CS 50p each :)
Book - CS to sell on Amazon
4 X Mini-hairbrush sets - 25p each from Tescos (Think I got carried away because they were cheap)
    Lightpull for bathroom
Framed picture - CS bought for new office
    OUT
    Ebay parcel
    Cheques to bank

So way more in than out but I've been working all week - now got a few days off to get the flow going in the opposite direction.

    Good Morning Everyone.

Can I start again tomorrow please!! Is anyone else doing it again?

    Good luck everyone.

I'd be up for it. I've been watching everyone do the challenge & wishing I'd joined in. Tomorrow would be a great day for me to start. :j

    Thank you, thank you.... :T

I've not done any sorting out today, although 3 boxes of craft stuff have now gone from the house, all picked up by Freecyclers. Babysitting grandson today so not much chance of decluttering, was exhausted just looking after him! Hubby is off to Belgium tomorrow until Saturday evening so hopefully I'll sort some more out when he's not around to hinder me.

Well done everyone who's joined in on this challenge, it's certainly a great start to spring cleaning isn't it?!!!

Mornin' All - Just read through everyones 100 in 10 days progress. Well done to all who managed it! I am on day 9 today and dont think Im going to find 50 (yikes) genuine things BUT I know that lots of my items have been multiples so I feel that I have done really well. I certainly know that the challenge has made me examine every thing in the house that I come across and assess its declutter potential! So yesterday:-
    48. Post (included 2 clothes catalogues that went straight in the recycling bag)
    49. Kitchen and bathroom bins emptied
    50. Threw away 3 or 4 "pretties" that hang in the kitchen, (Washed all the others off - ghastly layer of dust that I hadnt seen until I got up close and personal with these things)
    51. Old rug under the stairs from when we had an open fire.
    52. Old seed packets from Greenhouse.

Have a lovely Friday everyone. See you after the weekend. Anyone else running the Newham 10k on Sunday? Waves :-)
    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents
  • hi everyone, my dh and i are in the middle of a major declutter in our home.
weve lived tere 35 years so far 80 bags of stuff have gone, the attic is completely empty, now im on the second round of decluttering .

now that the obviously rubbish stuff has gone
my problem is i cant decide how many of items to keep, theres just me and dh here now, kids grown up and left home,we are both 56 , im disabled and dont work, dh disabled and works if and when he can.

i especially find it hard to decide with clothes, i have this fear of not having enough, so i tend to hoard things just in case, can anyone give me guidelines on how many clothes i should keep? also bedding and towels please.
    thanks a lot in anticipation.

have been absent through illness for last few days. Today have decluttered DS to driving test_pale__pale_ - don't know who is the most nervous - him or me!

About to declutter myself to work - will hit the ground running this afternoon! Have lots of housework to catch up on - funnily enough nobody seems to have done it while I was feeling rubbish:mad:!

Keep up the good work fellow declutterers...
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
