I've found it interesting to see how much OOD food has been decluttered this past week or so.

I hate throwing food away (that's not to say that I never do) but just wondered how many of us regularly end up throwing OOD items, and if so, why? Conversely (sp?!) how many of us use OOD items (esp without our families knowledge!!)

I found a full bottle of Baileys when clearing out a kitchen cupboard yesterday BB Date Nov 2005.................... cannot even consider what that might have tasted like:eek: - but admit i do need to be a bit more inventive with some ODD stuff

Oh - and meant to say I added 2p (yeah yeah I know..) to my "roadkill" jar the other day and I will share with you how ... I was in Mr T homestore thingy (dont like Mr T dominance of the world - fortunate to have proper butchers etc for main shopping but needed storage box to match others and knew they had them ...) anyway - paid for said boxes using self scan doo dah but dropped 1p of my change and it fell tinkle tinkle down the side of the do dah. So helpful assistant came over and unlatched said do dah, pulled it out and there was my 1p - and another 2 1p's as well - so into my road kill jar they went.
Moral Q - is this theft? Replies on the back of a £5 note please!!

Not been around for a while, but am hoping to get started again.

So, today I have listed 6 items on Ebay which will go live at 8pm tonight and run for 10 days, so although I have to wait until a week on Sunday, hopefully that will be 6 items less cluttering up my house!

Right, have to stop getting sidetracked on here now and FOCUS!

Now that might have been taking it too far!:D We have some OOD Baileys - but it only went OOD in JAn, so am going to use it up in coffee (only 1/3rd bottle)

Other OOD foods I have = readybrek (bleurgh! Have been adding it to crumble topping in an attempt to use it up), a packet of savoury rice (why I have it I have no idea, but I shall use that up shortly), dried apricots (bought 1kg of them) - gradually using in flapjack and cookies, bread flour (using for pizza bases - about another 6 pizzas to go!) and 100s and 1000s - they don't count, imo and are being used up as ice cream toppings. There may be more - oh yes, a lump of OOD apricoy wensleydale that I'm gradually getting through, but only I like it, so it's taking a while.

I rarely tell people that I've served something ood - and it's mainly dried foodstuffs (ah yes - I have some couscous) I try and be creative if I can and turn it into something edible :-)

  • Hi everyone! Im back after the house move and decluttering once more!

Today i have someone coming round to pick up a load of packing boxes and bubble wrap that were used in the house move that we have now unpacked. So that will be a huge chunk of stuff gone tonight.

Im also really pleased with the recycling that the new council area Im living in works. They seem to recycle almost everything, theres not much that goes in the actual bin. So This week I have a bag full of tins/cans, a bag full of plastics, a box full of paper and card, half a bag of glass, and the beginings of a compost bin to be collected on Friday.

Im also going to need to ebay some more furniture, just small stuff, as I have less room in this house than the last and some stuff just wont fit!

Still lots of unpacking to do yet but its going well!
