My to do list, from yesterday:
[STRIKE]Tall cupboard.[/STRIKE] Haven't done very top, though.
[STRIKE]Wall cupboard.[/STRIKE] Haven't done very top, though.
Art cupboard.
Side cupboard.
Bookcase.
3 work units.
Mobile unit.
I also want to stock take food supplies, ready for meal planning in the new year.
[STRIKE]Wall cupboard.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Fridge.[/STRIKE]
Freezer.
Work unit.
I've now done the fridge - made a note of all that's in there, use by dates and gave it a clean.
Hopefully, I can tackle the freezer later, but that will be a job and a half in itself
CRANKY, I tend to stick to online shopping as DDs would cost me a fortune too! Have you been on the discount codes and vouchers board to get the asda free delivery codes? I tend to look for them when doing an order and haven't had a problem with them going throughThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Morning!
It's still freezing here so the heating is on & so is the TD & WM. I'm another one whose bins weren't emptied last week so they're overflowing despite a single neighbour letting us use his.
I'm going to do the usual Monday vac & dust throiugh the house this morning to keep on top of it & there is ironing to be done too
Lunch is pate & toast today and dinner is spaghetti & pasta sauce with bacon. Hopefully I'll get chance to get some more knitting done this afternoon or maybe continue reading my cookery books that I got for christmas.
Diva Brilliant that Tris is feeling better!
NPM Hope that you get to go to the soft play & tire Noah out.
Have a good day all & take care in the cold & ice.0 -
morning all
I am very impressed with all the activity and housework you are all doing. me? I am still sat on my @rse, dont feel like movingI know I have to as the house is a tip. I have put the WM on and washed the breakfast pots but then sat down with a lovely cup of tea and now I'm stuck
I meal plan for a while and then it all goes pear shaped. I do need to be more organised in that department ( maybe that should be a new years resolution)
Bitsy your wii just dance sounds good we had the wii fit plus for xmas which the kids love

I found the Calvin Harris song quite hard to get a decent score on despite me seeming to be in time with the dancer on screenStill I love dancing and its so much fun :T Shame there aren't more songs though......mind you the Blur one takes me back to my youth
:rotfl:
I did half an hour last night (whilst H kept the kids out of the way) and I was cream crackered at the end of it!
Sistercas - I too need to get my butt in gear and get off the computerI admit that spending too much time on here stops me getting stuff done........its just when the kids are quiet it's a chance for me to have a little bit of "me" time. Need to learn to switch it off after say an hour though :rotfl:

Morning all,
Very cold here last night and this morning, sharp frost, but no more snow , we took little dog out for a long walk yesterday, and she slept peacefully all night, so may do the same today.
I also need to shift some weight in the new year, we do quite a lot of walking, but once we are in the new house I will get the wii out and start on that again. Might get the dance game.
Not sure what we are having for tea, still have loads of bits and bobs left, so might do a buffet thing again, otherwise I have a ham which I can cook, will see what the others want.
Bed stripped and in the wm at the moment, will get that on the line, also need to get dd to do hers, house is not looking too bad, just need to run the hoover over.
I need to do my online shop, which I have booked for thursday, need to get enough food to take us to moving day, using as much of the stuff in the cupboard as possible, dont really want to be taking too much food with us.
Taplady hope Janet is ok today xx
Haribo, now you come back quick madam, enough is enough
Have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning everyone ,I am back at home again after all that too-ing and fro-ing over Christmas.I do hope everyone had a good one. I love my family and my dgchildren, but I also love to get back home to my own bed and home.
Christmas was excellant and I was thoroughly spoiled with tons of goodies and enough smellies to sink a battleship.I won't be buying shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, soap or virually anything associated with abolutions until about May I think:D.I also had a lovely lightweight shopping trolley as a pressie, so my rather tatty old one is going on its last ride to the tip as its well past it.But it has many miles on the clock, and as I only paid 50p for it about 10 years ago at a boot sale I think its done me proud.
I really like the time after Christmas, as its a good time to get really organised and have a good chuck out of stuff so you can start the New Year afresh.
I shall start my New Year cleaning schedule today as I like my house to be spotless for the New Year, results of being brought up by my Scots Mum & Dad I think. New Year to me is like a new page so everything can be started anew.
I'm not too hot on resolutions, but its as good a time as any to start.
its also a good time to reflect on what has gone on in the past year and remember the ones who are no longer with us, and cherish the ones who still are.
My lovely niece who lost her husband last February has at last managed to find a place to rent, and will move in with her two children on 7th January .I am so pleased for her as she too will have a new start and will be getting her furniture out of storage, and the children will get all their bits and pieces around them at last.
Its been a long hard road for them all this year, and I hope the new one will bring them a little more happiness.
Today will be abusy one with lots of black bags being filled with junk,I am determined to declutter a bit as at the moment the house seems to be shrinking with so much stuff in it.Tomorrow I promised to take my DGS Ben to Bluewater as he wants to spend his birthday money, and I will treat him to the cinema and buy him lunch. He's a good lad and has been a great help to us over Christmas with the little ones .My DGD Katie is still madly in love as only an almost-17-year-old can be, and moons about in a dream. Oh to be that age again.
The three little boys were terrific over Christmas and such a lot of fun.
We had a great family party on Christmas Night at my eldest DDs.
On New Years Eve DD,OH and tribe and I are off to Maidstone to the Hazlett Theatre to the pantomime, another afternoon out for the children, although we all do enjoy it ,even the grown ups.
Well, time to get a wriggle on,have a lovely day everyone what ever you do.
MSD it's good news about Tristam isn't it sounds promising.
Cheers everyone
JackieO xx
P.S. must start dosing myself up with paracetamol, as I think I have a cold on the way so I need to kill it off quickly.0 -
Morning all
Goodness I feel rough this morning - was up half the night with sickness and the runs. Think it is probably a build up of too much rich food over too many days!_pale_ tummy has settled now thank goodness so will keep the food very light today:rolleyes:
Thanks for the advice yest re my DF. I decided to do what Redruby suggested only rather than ring her and leave a message saying it had been nice seeing her etc, I sent her a text as she sometimes responds better to these if she is in a non talking mood. Anyway amazingly she text me back last night saying she had enjoyed seeing us and would be in touch. Now whilst I will not hold my breath as I know she will probably not be in touch for months again, I do feel better that I did not just leave it as it was. So thanks again guys:A
We went to Manchester to see friends last evening and had a lovely relaxing time with them. Today will be spent relaxing as I do not have much energy due to being up half the night.
Bin men here have been today, they came really early at about 6.45 a.m and amazingly although we did not have our bin out on the street as you are supposed to do as we were not expecting them, they came and took it off the drive and emptied it - this normally just doesn't happen. Really grateful for that as we were struggling and bin was ready for over flowing
Have a good day all

Morning all:snow_grin
Very cold here but nice and sunny. Took doggies to the park this morning and walked along the icy pavement in shuffling movements.
Just had 2 slices of bacon and bubble and squeak for brekkie - how MSE:p. DH and DSS still asleep. Thought the smell of bacon might wake them but no.
Plans for the day include some walking:D. DH and DSS might go to see the new Sherlock Holmes film as DH got cinema tix from DD for his Christmas. I would then laze about here and ready my book (The Matchmaker of Perigold - DD's library book - am enjoying it). I'll also cook a roast for tea so we can have Christmas dinner mk 3 now that DSS is here. Tonight I think some ice skating may happen, although I will happily wander about with younger dog instead. Older one will be left all snuggled in her bed.
Ok, the lazy lumps are not stirring so I am off to call them.
have a lovely day all. NPM - thinking of you and hope you manage to get some time to yourself to recharge batteries.
