A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Hello everyone, the cheque for caravan has cleared but OH has decided to purchase himself a 50" plasma tv , are all men obsessed by the latest gadget or peice of home entertainment kit???? He has been harping on about one of these tvs for a while now and hopefully this will keep him happy for a while...we will see. I would loved to have put all the money into savings to cover the shortfall when on maternity leave...but i know if i push him too hard on the savings/MFW front it will backfire...i find it difficult to strike the balance sometimes...
On a positive note i found an online discount code and went through quidco, so managed to save £48:D:D

The normal monthly payment has come out and we are just short of being sub £147k. Still feeling the normal tiredness of pregnancy and am already counting the weeks till i finish work...:rotfl::rotfl:.

Hello everyone, no futher overpayments made so far this month except the one that is already included in the normal monthly payment. However the savings are building up nicely and have been doing quite well keeping the grocery spends down :D. OH and myself got lovely end of line wallpaper in B and Q for our chimney wall in living room for £30. After managing to paper the bedroom we decided to take a go at the living room and it turned out brilliant- makes such a difference and all for just £30 :money:.
    Have a great weekend everyone

Glad your enjoying the diary earthgirl :)
Just a wee update....this months mortgage payment had come out along with the standard overpayment and this has knocked £520 off the amount outstanding :j:j....i have to admit i would like it to be coming down a bit quicker but considering when we took the deal out a year ago we were only paying around £290 a month off the capital we are definately making good progress.
August is an expensive month for us with a hen do, wedding and a weeks holiday all planned aswell as the car MOT...it also doesnt help that i have finally caved and ordered the phil and teds double pram that i have been wanting...got a good deal with extra points through boots and of course went through quidco...so not all together bad:D

    Off to update my signature...:j:D
