Hi Pammy , i know it is sooo high, especially when i read of other MFW daily interest being a few pence! I just have to settle myself that every month it decreases....the 10k has been a massive help to us in overpaying this year, without it we would only have overpaid about 1.5K.
I am still trying to get the savings built up for going on maternity leave...and have managed to save just over 2k ....would like to have about 3k but we will see.
I finish work in about 5 weeks time and am literally counting the days :j:j.
Have checked on line banking and quidco have paid me £23.11 this month...so i have rounded it up to £25 and sent a payment to the halifax....i love free money!!!

Hi everyone, time for another update.....have managed to save £15 on a pair of school shoes for DD. Was sooo closed to buying a pair in the shop for £34.00!!!, thankfully they didnt have them in her size and they wouldnt be in for a few days. Checked ebay and got a pair for £19
:D. Also my mum gave me £20 today for no real reason so i have just made an O/P of £35.00 to the halifax:j.
The monthly mortgage payment has also cleared so the balance has reduced from £146091 to £145487....meaning £604 has come off the capital :j:j.
The other bit of MSE news.....i have recently started using a local factory shop...they are a large chicken factory that supply chicken products all over the country...but they also have a shop beside the factory that is open to the public and everything is heavily discounted. For example a whole chicken with a tesco label on it priced at £3.67 cost £1.50! Cant believe this shop has been literally 1 mile from my house for the last 7 years and this was the first time i have used it , as we eat a lot of chicken i reckon the savings on the grocery bill would be at least £20 per month just by changing one simple thing.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi WABL,
Congrats on daily interest dropping below £20. I'm still just over £20 and can't wait until it drops. Its my next milestone after getting mortgage down <140000. We owe a similar amount and I look forward to following your progress.:T
Good luck

Hello everyone. Thanks CathT and CharlieH for posting.
Just thought i would post an update........ Have sold one item on ebay for £15.00 so have paid that off the mortgage already.
Have another item ending at 8 oclock that has £22 on it so far and nine watchers...hopefully a bidding war will bump it up at the finish.
Whatever it sells for i will pay straight off the mortgage.
I have also just listed another nine items that will hopefully bring in a few pounds. This is the first time i have sold on ebay in ages and even though it is quite tedious it is also kind of exciting...i am a bit obsessive about checking "my ebay" for any bids/watchers.....:rotfl:.
Also i finish work this week to go on maternity leave...yee haa!!!!!
Happy sunday everyone....looking forward to X factor results:DCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
WABL I have just read your diary from start to finish and have found it brilliant.
We have very similar circumstances both have a 2nd cash busting home that we can't sell. I've got two kids. Similar mortgages mine's 130K. I'd like another child by the time I'm 30 (four years)
So I've been able to grab some tips good luck with baby number 3 -not long now.
P.S I've got a phil and ted's and have found it brilliant. They sell well on ebay when you've finished with it as well.OPs so far £42,139

Hi Sarahevie, glad your finding the diary a good read and thanks for posting.
I can sympathise with the second house , sometimes i wonder if i should split my overpayments between the two houses. It annoys me so much that the BTL mortgage is interest only, so nothing is coming off the capital, but at the minute we have no choice especially as i am going on maternity leave!
Cant wait to get using the Phil and Teds and glad you havent been disappointed by yours. I am going to try and keep it in really good condition as i do intend to sell it afterwards....this was part of the justification for spending so much on a pram!
The item on ebay sold for £28.50 including p+p, which is slightly more than i paid for it on ebay a few months ago :j. I have just went online and paid this off the mortgage.....have three watchers on the other items aswell....told you i was obsessedCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -

Thanks michelle, have to admit i am really looking forward to finishing work, although i dont think i will have much time to myself as DD2 is 19 months and a complete handful.
It will be nice to wake up in the morning and not have to rush about like a headless chicken to the school, childminders and then to work!
I love your diary BTW and hope the kitchen turn out as nice as your bathroom.
