evening, managed to bag a bargain today, my windows trial ran out yesterday and as im at uni needed to purchase it ASAP, managed to get the ultimate windows for £38 thanks to martin!
Also forgot to mention, a few months ago me and OH got into arrears with a mortgage by a month, however continued to pay monthly payments as normal, a couple of weeks ago we got a letter from Nortern Rock, basically thanking us for continuing to make monthly payments despite previously difficulty and stated that if we met this months they would capitalise our months arrears, we didnt really know what this meant however OH paid the mortgage a couple of days ago and they advised us that we were no longer on file has being in arrears and they have just added the monthly payment on to our mortgage again, so its almost like we had a payment break or something, so thats quite good knowing we havent got to find that moneyxx

Morning, paid £5 off VERY today, balance is now £470, i found a post I had written a couple of months ago where the balance was 820! cant believe how much I have got it down to already its really spurred me on!
So far this year I have cleared a debt a month - Hitachi was Jan, Videographer was Feb, Nationwide will be March, and im really hoping I can push myself for VERY to be April! After that tho I think the monthly streak will have finished lol xxx:j6 debts cleared since joining MSE:j:eek: Remaining debts... Hiya everyone, 203.81 went to Halifax today for the loan, and made my usual PAD to VERY today (£2) so balance is not 468! Also payday tommorow - yayyyyy! Although its gonna be basic wage as had some annual leave last month so did no overtime.
Also thinking about booking a hol but dont know what to do, me and OH usually go away twice a year (hence debt problem!) however havent been on holiday since last March, were thinking of going somewhere just for a week, and have founds some all inclusive hols for 900ish for both of us, I know we could pay this without getting in more debt, but then I think 900 could clear VERY and take a chunk off the credit card etc...
I was talking to my sister the other day and she said I'm wishing my life away as I was telling her when certain debts would be paid off, what does everyone else think? my hearts telling me to have a week away, take a break from work and uni, but head is telling me the money could be put to better use *sighs* xxx:j6 debts cleared since joining MSE:j:eek: Remaining debts... Holiday??? This is a toughie. I think it's a personal decision. Do you need it? If you're under a lot of stress, then there's a good chance you do. Like you said, normally you have 2 holidays a year, so having just one is actually you cutting down (I can justify anything if I try hard enough:D)
When is your debt free date? - are you prepared to push it back a little further by having a holiday?
Personally I will be booking a few short breaks in England this year and maybe go abroad next year. Got to have some fun in life:) However, I won't book them on the cc and I have to be able to pay for them with money saved - I've got this far and I refuse to add to the debts:)Proud to be dealing with my debts,light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
Thanks for the reply, I feel I deserve a hol as I am so busy all week, I go to uni mon - fri and work sat and sun, but then im sure everyone thinks they deserve a holiday lol we were gonna get a few short breaks in england but then I find these can add up, i.e. we went to a wedding in london which cost around £300 by the time we had booked hotel, trains, spends etc.
Think I will sit down later and properly work out what money we have got, we wont get into debt by going which is a positive, but like I say I just think if i could pay £900 for a hol I could pay £900 off debts - will keep you updated anyways!
Thanks again xx:j6 debts cleared since joining MSE:j:eek: Remaining debts... Very / Halifax Loan/ A&L / Virgin cc / Lloyds / Sister :eek::smileyheaGetting Married 04.12.10 - The MSE way :smileyhea:dance: Making this house a home :dance:0 -

Hiya, well yesterday I paid of Nationwide - Yipppeeee!! Thats a debt a month so far this month
now im desperatley trying to finish VERY, have been making PADS and since settle the three debts detailed in my signature, this has freed up around £200 a month so I am able to make large PADS! past few days ive paid £10 a day - yayyyy! current balance is now 440 - hoping to pay this off in full in april, once I have got this down Im going to start PADDING on OH's credit card, with 4 debts gone I should be able to make some substantial payments - i hope! also found out OH has got a NEXT account - grrrr not impressed with this but I am having nothing to do with it, I am sick to death of looking after him, I have asked him what the APR is on it and what the current balance is and all i get in reply is 'not much!' he knows I wont sort it out for him cos I told him - do you think im being harsh? xx
