Hiya thanks for the replies!
Homegrown life I have now subscribed to my own thread so i dont lose this one!
Just paid £115 off the virgin credit card!
Little bit annoyed with OH, just checked online banking and he keeps buying things off ebay!!! nothing is ever over a tenner, but all the little things do add up! think its time for me to have a word!
Cialilerin i know the feeling about wanting to get rid of debt NOW, im exactly the same, somedays i just have no money to pay anything off and its so frustrating!
Were having major issues with Lloyds tsb at the moment too, OH is putting a letter of complaint together because they are not aknowledging his payment plan, there not even aknowledging payments that have been made and are on the halifax statement (the bank we made payment from)
OH's O/D was £3400 in May when he first contacted Lloyds TSB and now its at £3800! its ridiculous
Homegrown life, uni is good but so tiring at the moment as im on placement, plus doing my job, and of course im paying my tuition fees which is financially painful but will hopefully be worth every penny

Hi all,
I havent been updating my diary as much lately as ive been really busy, im still tackling the pay 20K challenge head on and I'm nearly 10% there!!
Think I got abit slack since christmas - i havent incurred any more debts, but havent really been trying as much as I could to smash the debts, so anyway im back on the padding of Very and I now have Nationwide at an unbearable £150, part of me just wants to settle it but I dont have the money, but then I look at my savings account which is due another £25 this month and think I could use that to pay that and then its done! but i like the idea of having some savings - eeeek what to do, what to do lol
Also hopefully paying our final £100 off to the videographer we booked for our wedding which we had to cancel.
Im thinking of calculating me new total soon as I havent worked out my debt balance since LBM
Thanks for reading xx:j6 debts cleared since joining MSE:j:eek: Remaining debts... Very / Halifax Loan/ A&L / Virgin cc / Lloyds / Sister :smileyheaGetting Married 04.12.10 - The MSE way :smileyhea:dance: Making this house a home :dance:0 -
Happy Saturday everyone!! this morning myself and OH settled our debt with the videographer - yayyyyy! this along with hitachi capital that we settled last month means we have saved £154.50 a month, aiming to get Nationwide O/D paid next month, would it good be good if i could do one a month? lol although i think its safe to say the streak will end after March but hey its a good start to the year
xx

Evening all!
I have been updating my diary as much! Me and OH had a good start to the year after setting two debts, however this month was feeling the heat due to my car breaking and costing £416 to fix :O
However finally after waiting for 4 months my student finance has been reviewed and they owe me £1500 which is going in to my bank on the 23rd!
Going to think carefully about what to use it on, but I think I am finally going to get rid of the horrendous Very debt! which is currently sitting at £630!
Hope everyone else is OK xx:j6 debts cleared since joining MSE:j:eek: Remaining debts... Very / Halifax Loan/ A&L / Virgin cc / Lloyds / Sister :smileyheaGetting Married 04.12.10 - The MSE way :smileyhea:dance: Making this house a home :dance:0 -
oooh excellent news about the student finance! I bet you won't be sorry to see the back of Very. Definitely, definitely get rid of that one. It would be such a good feeling.
Ugh to the car breaking down though.
You sound very upbeat which is great - keep up the good work!2010 Cost of Living Challenge - £901/£5300 * Grocery challenge - £117.91/£120 *Total Debt- [STRIKE]£6388.74[/STRIKE] £5995.66 :eek:Debt Free Reward Pot £11 * Overdraft vs 100 days £363.76/£800 *Feb NSD's 8/120 -
Hey homegrown - long time no speak! so pleased about the student finance, couldn't have come at a better time really, the car thing was a !!!!!!, but the mechanic has said we coud pay over two payments which is nice of him so we paid him £200 and now owe him another £216!
