2nd xbox will not regognise the ip address

Please can you help me? One xbox up and running on xbox live no probs, the second one bought for xmas day, eldest trying to get youngest on xbox live can't do it, the xbox will not recognize the ip address, bought N1 wireless, the black one with 2 pins we use belkin N1 and on broadband virgin media please help us:D

Go to the settings tab on the elite and go to network settings and set the ip address to automatic, you may also have to change some settings in the router to allow 2 xbox's on at same time

Thank you for the reply we have done that for a couple of hours this afternoon and it will not connect to xbox live however many times we do it, any other thing we could do? Thank you

have you tried hardwiring it to make sure there isnt an actual problem with the console??

yes we brought it all downstairs,wired it up and it worked fine

so what else you have tried apart form what i suggested

sounds like an encryption problem to me.

make sure you enter the wireless password/code exactly as seen (ie. if the code is CaSe SeNsiTivE, you must enter the capital letters as capitals)

The default ip address, the one for belkin, it came up with one, one off the oldest xbox, tried it all and it failed:rolleyes:

have you got MAC address filtering switched on in the routers settings?
