I think I will take mine down tomorrow, my livingroom is so small and my tree takes up half of it lol.
I dont have kids so no one to moan really, plus I got new games for my wii
and need the space to try them out

Good idea. We got 'Just Dance' for the Wii and our living room isn't that big. There were 5 of us giving it large (one without a controller obviously) and I kept hitting the 10 year old in the face/side of the head/shoulder etc etc. She wasn't amused. :rotfl: She might have been safer if we'd lost the tree first, lol.

was tempted this morning to take them down, but will probably do it before new year, maybe even tomorrow when dh is at work??
  • We've taken all of the decorations down, and left up the decorated tree and the cards. We'll take those all down soon enough though, I get fed up of the clutter.
  • 12th night for us, it always seems so empty after we've taken the decos down.

2nd of Jan for us. I enjoy the decs being up for approx 2 weeks but then I want to do a good clean and have my house back to normal!:D
  • Depending on how I feel / my new years hangover it will be either the 1st or 2nd of Jan. I understand about 12th night but I'm back as work on the 4th and want everything done for then!

I thought about it this morning but i know i would be 'shot down' by my family if i did.

I usually wait until new years day so i can have a fresh new start..ie clean house (but if i can get away with taking down earlier then i will

It's supposed to be bad luck to clean on New Years day as you will be cleaning the new year out.
Our tree will be down next weekend.

My DD went away to her dads/grandparents yesterday and within an hour of her leaving I was taking down the decorations, finished them around 2pm this afternoon. She's away until New Years Day and I'm back at work/she's back at school on the 5th so I want to spend the long weekend playing games and getting sorted ;) Also due to lots of new purchases this year (including the tree) I had a major sort out of the decorations as I was putting them away - binning all the broken/damaged ones - I still managed to put away the equivalent of 6 storage boxes plus the Xmas tree box; but that does include all the Xmas DVDs, books, dishes etc ;) Only things left up are DD's little Xmas tree in her bedroom which she will take down in the New Year and the Xmas cards which will be taken down, lists written of who they're off and then all recycled (Don't need to make gift tags - I bought a box of 120 sticker ones for 10p 2 years ago and they're still going strong ;):rotfl: )
