Wow I haven't stopped since Thursday!

Thursday - baked 48 cupcakes and two 9" cakes. Decorated 12 of the cupcakes.

Friday - my sister went into labour and messed up my super organised plans! (very proud aunt to a gorgeous baby boy :D) Decorated 30 cupcakes before I collapsed in bed!

Saturday - decorated the 2 9" cakes, I put them together to make a football pitch. Put the 30 cupcakes into boxes and tied them up with ribbon (my niece helped with this bit!)

Sunday - baked an 8" chocolate cake & 36 chocolate cupcakes. Decorated the cake and 12 of the cupcakes.

Monday - decorated 24 cupcakes. Took 36 cupcakes to the cafe, they ordered another 12 for next Tuesday :D

I've got to bake a cake for my dads birthday tomorrow, will do that later. Haven't got to bake anything til Thursday then!

Having a very early night tonight and a nice long lie in tomorrow! :rotfl:

Wow well done you!! The cake in the pic looks fab!! Can I ask - what do you do with cupcakes once baked before you decorate them? Do you just pop them in the fridge covered up? If so how long do you find they can last? I ask because this is the thing troubling me the most I have baked a single set of cakes before but now I have the opportunity to bake for a couple of markets I am worried about the volumes and cakes going stale!!

mrscupcake- i made 300 cupcakes over the weekend for a charity ball and i managed to bake all 300 on saturday(10am-6pm) and then on sunday decorated them(8am-1pm) and they were just fine. I store my cupcakes once cooled in their cupcake box, i have boxes of 12 and i stack up 6 boxes in each banana box i picked up from sainsburys-they work very well for travelling and were free! then it makes it easier for me to ice each one and decorate without running out of space in my kitchen! they last about 3 days before they start to go stale if they have buttercream icing. i like to make the cupcakes as close to the date as possible and i probably could of iced them all on saturday too....if i had had a large dose of caffene! i'll try to put up a picture, the lighting wasnt very good in the hall so the glitter isnt visible :(

Thanks moomin, much appreciated. I went for a sophisticated look with the cards rather than the obvious 'cake' look. How well are your cakes going? xx
