No detriment SugarSpun but how can you do next year's birthdays? People's wants and needs change thru the year to second guess this early! I think you are very brave :)

I have to agree with you diddly, last year my daughter was HSM mad but this year it's all about iCarly so who knows what it'll be by her birthday next year! It's the same with my son although he still likes Ben 10 but this year it's all about Star Wars too! :)

I've finished all my shopping and made a serious dent in next year - all birthdays are done now already. I wanted it all out of the way while I was still earning a wage as I'm now on parental leave at a reduced rate, and the last two things today were the Books Direct Bargains deal of the week - National Geographic DVD sets £3 from £65 :money: and 8% Quidco. If you're a new account holder you can also get £5 with Topcashback, postage is free over £5 spend and with a code you can find if you search they also send a free gift.

Ive got to admit Ive bought some presents for next year too. I always buy my nieces as they are the 4th and 6th of January so always get them a present to open and put money in the card. I have also bought some bits in the sale for the adults that I know they will love and will also buy some smellies in the sales to put away for the kids/adults too.

Normally done all my christmas shopping by now (and wrapped) but been unbelieveably busy with one thing and another (moving house / studying / plus workinglots!) plus absolutely skint, so this years christmas will be on a tight budget. Two youngest daughters like those zhu zhu go pets, saw them in argos catologue, any ideas were cheapest to buy please?
Plus looking for some nice plastic storage for toys for middle one, as shes got a new "blue" bedroom and is not the tidiest of creatures, looked at ikea but seems dead expensive.
No idea what to buy my mum!! OH easy and done! Been scanning argos sale and getting vouncher, plus major home bargains fan. Just bought harry potter box set for oldest on play.com and shrek 4 dvd (pre order) on Amazon.

  • Have just ordered photo calendars from Vistaprint - 5 delivered for £16-odd. Also bought my best mate's make up gift online for £15-odd when the cheapest I'd seen it was £18-odd (found a voucher code on Quidco plus cash back of £1.10 so £14 odd really) Good times!

Got a few bits left to buy for family, plus haven't started on DH yet but have a plan so that's ok. 47 days to go!

    Hi guys
Just came across this thread and am hoping you can help me and save reading through the whole thing :)
I've got 2 hampers to do and was thinking of doing them for Xmas eve.
My OHs two sisters - age 17 and 21. Like watching films so thinking of maybe pjs, a film, hot choc, chocolates...rem a xmassy mug, maybe a candle?
My OHs brother, his girlfriend and their baby
Thinking of a similar thing but inluding the baby in the festivities
Maybe pjs for the little one, xmas cups and xmassy baby beaker (any suggestions of where to get one from?), a movie, a candle, wine, beer?
Any other suggestions welcome or any film suggestions would also be good?
    Thank you!

I need a little inspiration, I'm making a family fun evening hamper for my best friend, her husband and 4 daughters (9 - 16yrs). So far I have mugs with snow man soup and sock monkeys for each of them, 2 board games (1 reduced, 1 very cheap), 2 pack of cards, dominos. I'm going to get a cheap Wii game and probably a book of card games. What else can I get cheap to bulk it up a bit??
