I've found 3 boxes for £1.99 with a stripy theme in BM bargains so thats boxes for BIL, OH, SIL, Dad and FIL's boxes sorted.
I also had a baking day yesterday and made some mince pies, Christmas puddings and cake with 5 little sprogs.
Does anyone know where to pick up some kola cubes, sherbet lemons etc without paying a fortune?
I've seen these types of sweets in John Lewis £3 for 100g or £2:20 for a 220g. I don't have any little sweet stores nearby anyone :( and don't want to spend a fortune to finish OH surprise hamper!!!!!!!!!

You want to be looking for 'Traditional sweets' in the supermarkets... Tesco have theirs on offer at the moment 3 bags for £2 and this includes their own brand cola cubes, coconut mushrooms, strawberry bon bons, lemon sherbets, pear drops, cough candy..... The bags are all at least 200g except the coconut mushrooms.

    Hope it helps!

I've just more or less finished my Xmas shopping in one fell swoop!!! Was going to get my nephews gift vouchers but thought that was a bit of a boring cop-out. So I went on Amazon and sourced a fantastic Doctor Who complete visual encyclopedia thing for my oldest nephew for £8 (bargain!!!) and a Newcastle United calendar for my younger nephew (£5 - not bad!!!) plus I needed something else for Dad as Mum has 5 presents and he only has 2, so I bought him three of the Just William books he loves for a couple of quid each.
Avon came yesterday so made up and wrapped up Mum and best mates pressies, but me and best mate's hubby are going halfs on a rugby shirt she wants as the main present from both of us so sorting that out at the end of the month, then theres just OH's Tigers calendar and polo shirt to get. But the best thing is I've sorted all the presents that have to go home - thats a big weight off my mind.
Have spent very little this year and feel a bit guilty tbh - last year I spent about £500 but this year I reckon I've spent probably about £150 in total on everyone. Xmas has been done on a painfully tight budget and I feel a bit cheap but this is the first year in about four years I've had no access to catalogues so I just hope that no-one thinks Im a total cheapskate!! Feeling worst about my Mum's presents - I really wanted to buy her a real Pandora bracelet to say thank you for buying me a laptop for my birthday but I've had to buy her a cheap Avon imitation instead! :(

  • Well Im eventually finished. I have 2 gift bags to get when i find the size i need and a card for my mam from my dad as he cannot get out alone. Ive got all the sweets for my sweet bags/boxes unless they get eaten first. Now I can enjoy the run up to christmas and not get stressed with busy shopping centres. Just have to find a birthday present for my niece who has a birthday on 4th January.

Went into Leicester the other day (mistake. VERY BIG MISTAKE. :rotfl:) for some Xmas cards and wrapping paper - which I got. Also managed to get a frame and a mount for best mates cross stitch, (not bad, £4 in total) but got my Dad a bottle of Bud in a special jacket to keep it cool, and a Bud bottle opener. No more presents... :D

Might be worth having a look on ebay? The best ones in my collection came free with various magazines over the last couple of years:D

Just in case this hasn't been posted here: For those wanting small bottles of wine for their hampers Tesco currently (until sunday night) have 4 for £5, but if you buy 6 bottles or more then the 25% discount also running come off too. So I bought 12 small bottle usually £1.99 each, but they worked out at just 76p each after all the discounts.

I've finished all my shopping and made a serious dent in next year - all birthdays are done now already. I wanted it all out of the way while I was still earning a wage as I'm now on parental leave at a reduced rate, and the last two things today were the Books Direct Bargains deal of the week - National Geographic DVD sets £3 from £65 :money: and 8% Quidco. If you're a new account holder you can also get £5 with Topcashback, postage is free over £5 spend and with a code you can find if you search they also send a free gift.
Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
