Hey all I am getting back into the swing of preparing for christmas as its half term & I actually have some free time for once!
I was browsing gift ideas on amazon this morning and discovered a little Gem which I've put on my xmas list
A Glee karaoke game for the wii looks like great fun, it includes the music videos to watch while you sing lol
I thought other people may be interested for any relatives who are glee mad like me!
Cheapest price is £24 without mic linky
Or £30 with 1 mic link0 -
Hiya lovelies!!
Well.. I'm almost done!! YIPPEE!!! Literally have 2 vouchers and one present left to get and I knwo exactly what I need to get! Annoyingly the last one I need to get is £34.99 and I cant find it cheaper or find a discount code which is a real shame! Only paid full price for 2 presents this year so far ans was hoping I'd stick at that. Never mind.
Now, I need some advice on hamper wrapping!
I have noticed it mentioned that some people cover the hamper in tissue paper then put cello on and thats how its presented.
Last year I did 2 (my first ever ones) and I celloed them then wrapped in paper as usual.
Which is best? I know when I did them last year the recipients kept them in the cello for ages before having a proper look at the contents (somewhat annoying as I wanted to see them open them haha)
Any suggestions gratefully received0 -
Hi there chasingsunshine,
I'm going to have a go at hampers for the first time this year, I've left it a bit late so they will be small, but next year will try and collect stuff during the year for them.
Do you have a theme for your hampers?
Cellophane and a lovely bow would look great, you could then put them into large gift bags instead of wrapping!
Have you used baskets or boxes or something else for your hampers?🎄The most wonderful time of the year 🎄0 -
if anyone lives in newcastle there is a new card shop just opened on Northumberland street that sells really cheap cards and gift bags, the bottle bags are five for a pound, and they do small, medium and large gift bags, also diaries for £1.00, and lovely large christmas cards for 99p.0

i agree with pixie fairydust, last year i did my hampers in cellophane with a big bow and lots of curling ribbon then popped them in big christmas bags. that way people cant see what they ahve inside the bag and when they open it they dont have to remove the cellophane straight away as they can see all the gifts in there!

I got some great gifts in the Boots Christmas evening for next years birthdays. Wasnt going to buy until the 1/2 price sale but with the 12 worth of points on a £50 spend they worked out around half price anyway and I got the gifts i wanted for people. I got the most gorgeous tink sassy gift set which had a cosmetic bag, perfume and body spray. http://www.boots.com/en/Disney-Sassy-Tink-Gift-Set_1115435/
Have got quite a lot of points saved to start next years. lol0 -
I have recently come across this thread & am excited by the idea of doing some hampers - albeit rather late to be starting! I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but where are some good places to get cheap baskets from?
I keep thinking of more people to do them for! Other option is to use the boxes my Avon is delivered in.
I have also been inspired to make 2 sock monkeys, out of old socks, which my daughter loves, so have bought some new ones to do a couple for presents.
Thanks to everyone for all the ideas and tips so far!0 -

ThanksI had a go at wrapping my mums yesterday - its a fairly big one and is a bit untidy but will put a pic up later. I did it in cello, put some ribbon and a bow on but think it could do with a bigger bow really.
I bought a set of hat boxes from candi gifts. They were in the slight seconds tab but I honestly cant see anything wrong with them. It was £9 for 5 different sized hat boxes so I'm using those for hampers.0 -
I've found 3 boxes for £1.99 with a stripy theme in BM bargains so thats boxes for BIL, OH, SIL, Dad and FIL's boxes sorted.
I also had a baking day yesterday and made some mince pies, Christmas puddings and cake with 5 little sprogs.
Does anyone know where to pick up some kola cubes, sherbet lemons etc without paying a fortune?
I've seen these types of sweets in John Lewis £3 for 100g or £2:20 for a 220g. I don't have any little sweet stores nearby anyoneand don't want to spend a fortune to finish OH surprise hamper!!!!!!!!!
