Well i set my clock when i put petrol in and i can get 100 miles for £10, if i drive nice! So thats 10p a mile! If i fill up[ locally (higher petorl cost) That would prob be 13-15p per mile.0

I've never worked this out either...
Insurance - £150 a year (ish) / £12.50 a month / £3.12 a week / 44p a day
Petrol - £1,920 a year / £160 a month / £40 a week / £5.71 a day
Road Tax - £200 a year / £16.66 a month / £4.16 a week / £0.59 a day
MOT - £120 a year / £12 a month / £4 a week / £0.57 a day
Servicing/Parts etc - allowed £300 a year / £25 a month / £6.25 a week / £0.89 a day
AA - £20 a year / £1.66 a month / £0.41 a week / 5p a day
All in all, works out about £8.22 a day. Pretty shocked actually!
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
Insurance: £650 per year
Service, MOT, Tyres etc: roughly £400 per year
Tax: £200
Petrol: £2600 (£50 per week if I use it daily)
Total: £3850
£10.54 per day....ouch!0 -
If you think that a bus ticket costs on average round about £3 a day.
£6.81 a day for the convenience of a car is excellent.0 -
I've just done a quick calculation:
Ins + tax: £37pcm, £1.20 per day
Fuel: £170pcm, £5.80 per day (20,000 per year, 45mpg, Diesel £1.05/litre)
recent MOT: £41 pcm, £1.36 per day
original purchase price + getting it into shape, assuming I keep it for 1 year: £167 pcm, £5.50 per day.
If I keep it for 2 years that'll halve.
Do that, it's £11 per day, of which £6 is fuel.Happy chappy0 -

So what you are saying is if normal priced petrol 100p per litre then buying locally would cost between 130p per litre and 150p per litre ?

Had the car for three weeks now and I have reset the MPG counter each time I have filled up. I am getting around 26-28mpg at the moment and that's with the odd blast on the motorway. If I thrash it then it can drop to 20mpg-23mpg. Getting a dreamscience remap next week so that may improve things."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
