if you are up to it could you explain some more.
my thoughts are even if i could find the extra
a money for a dog walker surly he needs some one more than 1 hour a day and some time on a sunday:beer: LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -
Maka - I have a German Shepherd. She is 3.5 years old, I work full time.
I get up at 5 am sometimes to make sure she gets at least an hour walk/run before I go to work, the dog walker takes her out for an hour lunchtime, I take her for another hour or more after work and then again for a quick pee befor bed. Smaller dog may not need to go out that much/for that long/that often - my one does and I live in a falt, have no garden.
I do not have a dog walker at the weekends as I do not work weekends - the dog is out even more (with me).
Why it may not be better for the dog to try to rehome it?
Firstly, that dog already had a few homes, he is probably used to you and your family now and will miss you
You have absolutely no way of knowing where the dog ends up - reacues are full and whoever turns up to pick up a dog from you (if you try private rehoming) may not be the person where the dog ends up. It is an old trick to send a "respectable looking" people to collecvt the dogs that are later used at a bait for dog fighting etc etc
The bottom line is - do you actually really care for this dog? If you do, you will do what is best for him.. whatever that may be.

Could you not give it a try, and see how he reacts?
If you give him to a rescue centre at this time of year, when they are very crowded, he might not be rehomed. Especially if he's had five homes. Even a very well known rescue which promises not to put a healthy dog down has been accused of it recently, on a perfectly healthy dog.
Obviously if he hates it, and plays up, you'll have to reconsider. But if you give him time to adapt, and something to play with, he might be very happy with just being able to see you a little, even for only an hour a day.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

we love him very much its just we feel 11 hrs a day apart from the 1 hour dog walker is still a very long time for him to be alone in the house because its 6 days a week aswell its not like its for the odd day here and there:beer: LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -

of course we are not just going to dump him we will give it a try im just seeing it from my point of u i would hate to be a dog left for so long and not played with after all this is why we get dogs so we can enjoy them:beer: LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -

Maka - I did not realise you have kid/kids?
So the dog would not be alone at home for 11 hours every day.. unless the kid/kids are too?
Am I missing somethign here?0 -
