Have been and sorted my toiletry stash this morning & bathroom cabinet :j
I have the following in the unit in the bathroom

    15 tubes of toothpaste :o
6 bottles of mouth wash :o
15 tins of Mitchum deodrant (Boots on offer with £1.00 off coupon)
15 assorted bars of Ren, Molton Brown, Bentley's, Urtekram soap (I do not use soap)

My holiday toiletry bag has been filled with 100ml & under products and my weekend bag has been filled with 50ml & under products :D

Have used some of the products for birthday gifts needed in the next couple of months for friends.

I have decided to Ebay some products

I agree I am not a lover of body lotion/hand cream because it is too greasy and waiting for it to dry in a morning makes me cold!!!

Good hand lotion shouldn't reallly be greasy, unless you put on twice too much. Someone gave me some really greasy from Next and I used it up (slowly, mainly at night before bed where I don't really need to handle anything), but there's no way I would buy it. Personally I find that Vaseline Intensive Care is good, and not greasy.

I do think for those of you with mountains of body butter/body lotion type products this is the way to go.

Realistically, if you have this much stuff, you are a product junkie and are going to get fairly fed up with the no-buy regime. Plus, taking into account, birthdays/Valentines Day/ Mothers Day and next Christmas, the stash is going to be added to and the top of the mountain will never be reached!

But them I'm not really a hoarder. I would prefer to 'move' some of my stocks now/ liquidise my assets, so to speak and recoup some cash to save or make planned purchases to fill any gaps.

I don't like greasy hand cream either, bleh!!! The best two cheapish hand creams (with a Boots skinnie) are Time Delay and Olay Total Effects, they are totally non-greasy and gorgeous.

As regards using products for gifts, I already do this with any unwanted toiletry gifts I receive. :D

debidoodle - my goodness, you have a lot of dental products!!! And why do you have so much soap if you don't use it? Surely your OH doesn't buy Ren and MB soaps :rotfl: Good thinking with the travel sized bottles though, you genius! I have too many travel products for just one washbag, but when I get back from my mum's post-New Year I will store them all in one pretty basket, then I can pick and choose what I'm taking for each trip.

I will also sort through my stuff and take some half-used full sized toiletries to my mum's place so I don't have to keep hauling a washbag back and forth for visits (why did I not think of this before???). This will remove lots of products from my house and give me a ready stash of toiletries when I stay at my mum's, which will be a relief to her! :rotfl:

I might look into eBaying some items too.

    I love this thread.

    Do you wear make up?

My rush routine in the morning is shower, hair products (curly hair waits for noone!) faial moisturiser, body moisturiser and deoderant then, make up, perfume then clothes. :) By the time face is done body is ready to clothe!;)

I must try this, thanks for the tip. I do get a bit chilly at this time of year wandering around in the nude (OH likes it, but won't touch me if have 'that gunk' all over me :rotfl:). And also I am a tiny bit paranoid that my clothes will get destroyed with body lotion, it doesn't feel 'dried in' for ages and I have tried dozens of body lotions and butters! But I am going to have to do it. My skin is going to be sooo fab! :D

Tara I CONFESS :oI am a total beauty junkie, QVC the shopping channel was my husbands nightmare I even knew posties first name :rotfl:

I used to buy a lot of the beauty TSV's, eveen though I did not need them

Some of the soaps have been amenities from hotels that I have stayed in, the others who knows I must have bought them when I was going through my organic phase.

I have found more products  under the bed in the spare room, none of it needed and I cannot remember buying it

I have 2 litres of assorted shampoos and 1,750 ml of conditioner, total madness and a real wake up call, this thread will be a godsend and I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY MORE PRODUCTS.

So today I have been busy listing on Turbo Lister as I need to be more :money:

    xx
  • Definitely going to be joining this challenge. Will still need to get things like shampoo, conditioner, deodrant and toothpaste but should be set for a long time with other stuff - apart from the newly discovered wonders of Liz Earle which i don't think i could ever deprive myself of now!!

    My stash as of today:
    Deodrant - 3
Hand Lotion - 8 (not including the ones at work)
    Hair products - 8
Shower gel - 9 (plus a stunning 8 piece molton brown set in a bag which is 8 x 100ml bottles)
    Eye cream - 1
    Toner - 4
    Hand Wash - 5
Body Butter - 5 (hate the stuff!)
    Body Lotion - 5
    Hand scrub - 1
    Moisturiser - 7
    Body scrub - 5
Air freshner - 5 (essential in the bathroom)
Perfume - 24 :eek: I'm going to be smelling so good in 2010. 5 bottles are unopened!
Cleanser - 3 (Liz Earle C&P all the way now)
    Exfoliator - 5
    Masks - 1
    Multi-Use - 2

I also have about 8 sets of stuff which i can re-gift to people plus i got the Elle bag that was a boots OOTW which i will probably use most of the stuff and ebay some other things.

I'm determined now to only be allowed to buy Liz Earle stuff and hopefully pick it up on special offers from QVC.
