I'm in! I was looking at my stash today as I loaded some Christmas pressies into it. I have two bathroom cabinets full plus a huge wicker basket, plus my window sill. I said to DH that I wanted to go through it all and separate it into types of things so that we can just grab what we need from the correct tub when the last has run out.
I opened up all my gift sets from last christmas and before a couple of weeks ago and have been merrily using them. Why is it that you don't use them cause they're too nice? I decided to treat myself!
DD kept asking me for deodorant so I gave her one of the body sprays from one of the sets. DS's flaky skin's bad so I sent him up to select a moisturiser and use some. DD was liberally covered when she got out of the bath. DH was instructed to use up the dregs of his shower gel whilst in the bath. He's a nightmare, he has bottles and bottles of opened things scattered all over the bathroom! He has 5 months worth of contact lenses taking up space too!
I've brought in one moisturiser to work with me tonight and am meandering around all the girls telling them to put some on! I offered some to one of the docs but he wasn't too impressed as it's pink and girly!
I reckon my stash will last me into 2011 and probably beyond. Lets see how long before I need to buy anything!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I'm in, I have sorted some of the stuff in my bedroom into 3 wicker baskets, make up and face and body creams, in the bathroom I have another wicker basket which is full of samples of shampoo, conditioner and body washes etc. I've still to go through the 2 cabinets in the bathroom. The only thing I will need to buy is deodorant and shampoo and conditioner once the samples run out!0

I am so on for this and was actually thinking of starting such a thread so well done katieclampet!!!
I have far too many toiletries, lotions, potions etc. I would be scared to list it all, but I am pleased to say that some of you are even worse than me! I am just a sucker for a bargain and stock up on my faves when they are on offer. I got 2 S&G hatboxes and lots of Body Shop goodies for Christmas and have ordered more S&G in the 50% sale, so am really in need of a financial detox!!! I also have lots of toiletry gifts put away for others so no excuse there either.
So... no more buying for me till I have used up my stash... I reckon I won't need to buy anything till 2011!
I promise to come on here and confess any lapses (and boast if I have exercised restraint)!!! :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Please count me in on this as well. I have far too many bits and bobs in 2 big wicker baskets on my landing that I need to start using. Dove deodrant was on offer at a £1 a can in Tescos recently so mum bought me..... 9 cans! Should last for ages.
Only things I should need to buy are some LE C&P and some clinique moisturiser (via ebay of course) and razors. Everything else I'm sure is in the bottom of a basket just waiting to be used up.
I have deliberatley avoided the boots sale as I'm still working my way through last years perfume boxsets.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -
Good idea, I have too many toiletries! But with just me using them they go down so slowly and I have superdrug round the corner
too much temptation!

Bars of soap are a bit of a problem for me to use up! There's only DD and I and I never put soap on my face and she keeps buying liquid handwash. I know the soap could probably be melted down into liquid soap but I suspect neither she nor I will be inclined to use that!
In view of this thread I think I should now abandon buying shower gel and start using up the soap with one of those puff things in the shower instead.
That's exactly what I have been doing bronnie! I have left shower gel out for oh, and been using scrubby shower thingy (I'm sure it has a proper name!) & one of the many bars of soap I have stocked away. I've been doing this for a few weeks now, and can't honestly say I've noticed any difference at all to my skin.

I have been thinking about this too for 2010 - I think that i can probably get through to 2012 with what i have in the top box of my wardrobe. i am going to write down the item that i have finished on to a list and check it at the end of 2010. I have 25 shower gels, 6 body lotions, 12 shampoo and conds, 8 toothpastes and 20 toothbrushes(those 6 packs you get in the poundshop) I'll have no teeth left by the time I use all those up-gummy:eek:0

Prompted by this thread I have just started an audit/stocktake and bishing session in my makeup collection. With great reluctance I've decided to consign some eyeshados that were my mum's in the 60s & 70s to the bin. I'm also throing away almost all of mine with no lid. Its amazing how many duplicates of colour in only microscopic differences in shade I have (I think I own every green eyeshadow ever produced, and I had at least 8 dark greys, two of which are easily older than me, and most of which were bought in my teens...I'm 30 now) and a plethora of purple.. Its unlikely I'll where any shade of orange eye shadow again too.
I've made up a box of stuff I'm not keeping and plan to have a giggle about it with my mother and sister, and then, if my neices want any of it, and my sister will let them have it they can...otherwise I guess the bin.
I must resist anything purple or green ever again: I honestly think I have enough to last me the rest of my life.0 -
