I've been doing this for a few years, I actually have a spreadsheet dedicated to it. Who is going to be brave and post their stash?
My stash is manageable now except for perfume, I have 22 perfumes although most of them are little samples. But they take so long to use up. I also have a few too many scrubs and I have 12 hotel soaps to get through.
In total my stash is:
face
1 toner (which I use as morning cleanser)
1 morning moisturiser
2 evening cleansers (I don't like one of them)
1 evening moisturiser
1 eye cream (going to use up and not bother with it)
1 lipbalm
hair
1 shampoo
1 conditioner
soap
2 large bars
shower gel
2 large bottles (one almost empty)
2 small bottles
scrubs
2 solid scrubs
1 homemade scrub
1 normal scrub
bath
15 bath bombs/bubble bars (just got them in Lush sale, will last whole year)
moisturisers
1 nearly empty
1 sample
other
1 talc
1 deo
perfume
1 solid perfume
15 samples
6 bottles
hotel bottles
shampoo x4
conditioner x1
lotion x3
soap x12
I've just written a list of what I'd like to finish up by the end of January and there are 18 items on it. If this thread's still going I'll report back.0 -

OMG times that by 10 and you have mine. I must have about 20 body butters from body shop and matching scrubs and/or shower gels, half the clarins counter, more elemis face masks thatn I dare to think about and the last time I cleared out some handbags there was at least 25 premium lipglosses (mainly dior and lancome). If I did a spreadsheet like you I would keel over at the cost over the years. It would be bad for my healthIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

I'm up for this. I have a serious addiction to bulk buying toiletries that has to stop.
Not done an audit but I'm currently renovating my bathrooms and have put everything in one of the spare bedrooms. I have at least 30 Molton Brown shower/bath gels, enough hand soap to last me about 5 years (I'm not joking), a 40 litre crate of Liz Earle stuff, 3 years worth of face scrub - and that's just one cupboard. There are at least 6 other crates................
I don't tend to buy new things (have very sensitive skin so don't try lots of different brands) but I do bulk buy the things I do use:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

Bars of soap are a bit of a problem for me to use up! There's only DD and I and I never put soap on my face and she keeps buying liquid handwash. I know the soap could probably be melted down into liquid soap but I suspect neither she nor I will be inclined to use that!
In view of this thread I think I should now abandon buying shower gel and start using up the soap with one of those puff things in the shower instead.
Could maybe use it for handwashing tights, undies etc, which I always do in bathroom anyway.
Unopened toiletries and make up sell well on ebay too! If you've got the time, just recouping a couple of quid for things clears a bit of space and reduces the mountain.
More MS and probably cost effective though is to match them up as sets and earmark them as gifts and put them away in a separate place. Did someone really say 20 tubs of body butter!!!!!0 -
ill fess up tomorrow too. ive got about 30 shower gels.
in fact ive got enough smellies to last all the way through several nuclear wars

I've subscribed to this thread too! I've got too many toiletries and every time I go to Boots and Superdrug, I buy some more. I will try to be better this year, and every time I want to go on a toiletry shopping spree I will refer to this thread..Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light.
