Ive just come down in total shock from the bathroom... I moved a stacking drawer unit in there about 6 months ago - and obviously put things in the drawers.....
Have a guess how many bars of soap I have in the drawer....

(yes, you did read that right - fourteen bars of soap.and thats without the afore mentioned lush ones... EEEEEK !!!!!!) Im going to be VERY clean this year !!!!!
(and half a tonne of other things too - but blimey !! )Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
I'm pleased I am not the only one with stacks of half used or unopened stuff!! Every week that I don't buy anything, I will put a certain amount of money (haven't decided how much) away. I hope to make stuff last as long as possible.
Good luck to everyone else joining in this challenge!:A

I've been doing this for a few months, with some things. It feels really great to get stuff finished and clear space. One of the things that has really helped make way through the stach of unused things is using moisturisers/ facsial products that I didn't like for my face so much on my neck and decolletage which are less fussy: that way I still use them (I feel too guilty to throw them away) and save the once I'm prefering for my face.
Things that don't suit for some reason, give them away....I resolved last year to give away all my gradual tan products bar one. I very rarely use them, the one I've kept might last the rest of my life, the others didn't suit so they wer just taking up room needlessly.0 -
Thank you OP. Just unearthed 5 bin liners full of toiletries, cosmetics and hair products that haven't seen the light of day since moving home 4 years ago.
My home isn't called 'black hole' for nothing!
Oceans of lotions and potions, mostly from my pre-MSE days, when I spent far too much on QVC and all their TSV's. Well, here they all are
And oh the shame of it......168 bottles of nail polish  CB2X0 -
I promise myself this every year but just keep on buying. I was a BSAH rep this time last year and when I gave it up I had loads of stock left so have been working my way through that but it just isn't going down. Hopefully the only things I will need to buy this year is toothpaste, mouthwash and deodorant.
I should save myself a fortune - if I can stick to it but when those elemis gift boxes go in the sale at my local spa it is so hard to resist! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

Face cream sachets from magazines that I don't want to use on my face, I apply to the backs of my hands. Really improves the appearance of them, especially if you've got an occasion coming up!0 -
I am joining... I have been on a mission for a while and I am reaching a pretty reasonable level now. When I moved house a year and a half ago I ended up with two full bin liners of stuff I had kept for a year- soaps, powders, lotions, potions... rescued what I knew I could use and threw away the rest after it festered in my step-daughters' cupboard for three months...After a trip to India I became very aware of my wasteful ways and I have reined it in this year. But I still have two or three jars of creams on the go and the moment three perfumes... one of them rescued from the bin liner (I got it for £10 in a sale, it costed £70!), that will take me through the year, I think. Body moisturisers are my real problem: I have four on the go and I still keep coming back to my sesame oil, which is the best skin softener I have ever used... I also have about 6 bars of soap stashed...so I'm subscribing.0
