Salesaddict - read about your most recent splurge, you sound just like me, honestly. TJ Hughes is a biiiiig problem zone for me. I agree with all the advice the others have given you though... especially about returning/selling any unopened products. I *know* it's hard to break a habit of a lifetime.

Crabtree & Evelyn sent me an email this morning with a free delivery code. There's something I really want from there. Arghhhhhhhhhh.

Oh, and my toiletries spends this month were........£23.93 _pale_ (but £2.81 was vouchers).

Included in that are 5x tubes of E45 cream (I get through a tube every week, and I need this for a skin problem) which are a necessity.

I have bought some Lacura serum from Aldi to replace the P&P, whilst I was there
    QUOTE]

Can you let us know how you get on with this when you've been using it for a bit, please? :)

I have given P&P serum a good go, but don't really notice much difference; certainly not enough to justify the cost of it. Think it's a really expensive and not very long-lasting product, although I think the creams are superb. With the serum, I can't help but get the feeling I'm being suckered for an "Emperor's New Clothes" type product when I buy it!!

Yet, something inside of me makes me feel I 'ought' to be using one. :o Silly eh? How much is the Aldi one please?

It was £3.49 and the eye cream is £1.49 considering the P&P and M&S eye cream probably cost £30 in total it is quite a saving if it works. It smells more than the P&P but it is quite a pleasant smell. I feel the same about P&P being an 'Emperor's New Clothes' product but I have felt the same way about Olay products and others I have read rave reviews of in magazines.

have just upped my direct debit to saving acount by £80 to account for non buying of clothes and toiletries(was £20 a month),no idea what I normally spend in a month on clothes and toiletries (shocking I know, anyone out there who does know how much they spend?)

This is now my "Get to California to see number 1 son"fund(OH also saves for hols so not as low as you may think plus any work money I can spare can join it.......do freelance so not a regular income)

Have not been inside a supermarket since last year due to Christmas crowds followed by bad weather, just get it all delivered ,so easier to avoid bargain temptations(tho came close with OS shower gel at Waitrose!)

looked at flights yesterday(sad I know as he is on the plane as I write but missing him already!!!!) and they are really strange prices,£206 return or £1389 single on one site and similar on others in that returns cheaper than 1 way!!!(son paid £350 return so he will be back at Christmas but would have had to pay £770 1 way! )anyone explain that?????

    Hi Everyone :D

I havent been around for the last few weeks, ive been crazy busy

Last week i completed on my first flat, so every weekend and most evenings im now in DIY shops or hunting for carpets and curtains :rotfl: I suppose the upside is (A) i dont have the money to spend on toileties and (B) dont have the time! Add in a full time job and studying for my degree im quite stressed at the moment, although another upside to that is ive lost about half a stone in last few months :D

Anyway, due to being so hectic i have seriously lost track of my mission and have only managed to use a lip salve and an eye make-up remover :o:o

I'm really going to try harder and use more products.

    January - total spend on toiletries = £0.00 :j

Just to add that ive nearly finished my mascara, but instead of buying another one im going to use one that i already have, i have about 5 to use up!

  • Results for January - I used 19 things up. Most of them were small samples or nearly empty but still, I like having less clutter. I've bought nothing.

For February I have 8 things on my list to finish up, plus I'll try to have a bath or two (I'm really more of a shower person). Two of the items are perfume which I've actually sold on eBay but not sent yet. I might need to buy some things in February... I'll try to go without where I can but I might run out of deodorant.

Hiya, please can I join you all. Im just soo embarrassed. I decided to have a bit of a sort out yesterday. It seemed that every draw and cupboard had toilertries and lotions in them. After counting 9 shower gels and 12 Liz Earle c&p I gave up:o Have more eye creams than I can shake a stick at as my gran used to say:eek:
I seriously dont think I will have to replace any thing till next year!!
If I can keep up my resolve Boots and QVC will have a big dent in their profits and I'll have room to move about in the house. Always knew I am a clutter bug and love my Elemis and L'Occitane but need to use them not just collect them:(
  • I've just had a lovely relaxing bath and used up a Molton Brown 100ml bath/shower gel and have half used up a huge bottle Molton Brown bath salts :D

I think i might have a bath every sunday before work on monday, i feel so relaxed :rotfl:
