I've been inspired by this tread to have a clearout of my bathroom cupboards. I have put the little bottles and sachets of shampoo in a bag to give to a friend. I have to use medicated stuff so it is no use to me.

The little sachets of conditioner are on the windowsill ready to be used.

The little bottles of body wash etc have been decanted into a pump bottle. It's made an interested colour but that doesn't really matter.

I have 2 full bottles and 2 quarter fill bottles of simple shower gel (I use to be careful as to what I use on my skin, especially on my face so stick to Simple)

1 and half large bottles of Pantene conditioner - I just love the smell. And two leave in conditioners.

1 Full toothpaste, two half used tooth pastes and a few mini ones.

I have only one deoderant on the go at the moment... I can't beleive that is right... am sure I will find some stashed somewhere. In fact I know there is a full one in my drawer at work for those day where I have forgotten to apply it after my shower.

I think this should all last me a good...6 months. Oh and now I have just spotted travel bottles on shampoo, conditioner, styling stray and soap... Why do I collect all this junk????? It stops now!
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I made a massive profit on my soap & glory hatbox which i'm well pleased about :)

    On eBay?

I just hope mine sells lol!
You can definitely get let off with that one - charity donations are a good thing and if you get the advantage of a bargain out of it too, so much the better!

    Oh thank you!!! :)

SalesAddict - can I ask how you paid for your purchases? Debit card, or cash? Also, what was the trigger? Were all your purchases made in shops you were going into for other more mundane items or did you specifically visit shops where you knew you might be tempted? You NEED to sort yourself out on this one, you know that already though don't you - you need to do it quickly though before you run yourself and your family into a situation that you can't get out of. Have a dodgy :grouphug: and then maybe try to work out why it is you felt you had to buy that stuff? (Oh, and stick the ROC thing on eBay and you might make a profit!)
I totally agree with this, great advice xo

Hi, tara, completely nuts i know, but i remember saying it to my dad when i was younger and diet coke had just become widely available, as he said it was silly eating bad stuff while trying to be good with the diet drink. iI told him , "no its actually very clever as i can have my cake and eat it" I was very precocious (sp) as a child.
Well had a lovely evening out at a friends birthday party yesterday, was very casual and relaxed with kids welcome , but i did paint my nails in "moonstruck" by 17, looks lovely but chipped quite quick.

    Back soon

My S&G Butter Up has gone missing :( It usually sits on the desk for use in the morning but I think it may have gotten knocked into the bin

I mentioned this on my own diary thread and one of the lovely folk from there is posting one to me! I bought her a hatbox before Christmas and she doesn't use the body butters! :j It has saved me as otherwise I was going to buy with points, but my local store was sold out....!

    QUOTE]

DD has a habit of starting new toothpastes and I find myself following in her wake using up the leftovers, which is a bit of a bummer cos I never get to choose what I want, on the other hand I'm not spending on toothpaste, although she is and I really want her to learn the MS ways too......

Anyway, last week I folded up a metal tube of toothpaste from the bottom that I would formerly have chucked as finished. I was even so sad as to put a mini-bulldog clip on it to hold it in place. I have used that paste twice a day for the past week and there's still a day or so left (and even more if |I was really sad and cut it open). I am going to hide her new toothpaste purchases next time. We are in this together from now on!
  • Oh my goodness me, yes please! I have so much piled up in the bathroom in various guises of shampoo/conditioner/lotions/toothpaste/showergel/soap etc that never gets used! Some of it has been there a good 2 years without being touched so I'd love to get it down and buy new - if only to save some extra money as I do like browsing the H/B part of mysupermarket when doing the online shop and spending money on toiletries not needed because we have a bucketload in.

So. Aside from the monthly essentials - no new toiletries until I've used all of what I've got & no opening new ones till the ones that are open are used up!

I don't think I did too badly today. I first went into Wilkinsons and bought some cotton buds and cotton pads (4 of each to last a year as I don't usually go to Wilkinsons that often so thought I would buy enough to last) and some nail varnish remover. This was only because I don't have a spare in stock. I didn't bother going to Boots to try and find a pump bottle or moisturising gloves, even though I had my £5.00 voucher. In fact it didn't even appeal to me at all :T

I then had to go and do some shopping in Tescos and bought some more of the Dove deodorant. I thought I would make the most of the vouchers as I don't ever remember Dove being on such a good offer. This should keep me going for a good while.

I think I was quite restrained today and haven't bought any unnecessities for a good while now.
    Did owe £9,951.96

Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

    Owe Virgin [STRIKE]£5,950.00 [/STRIKE]at 0% til June 2009 £3,427.89. Owe HSBC [STRIKE]£5,460.78 [/STRIKE]2.9% til May 2010 £3,703.07. Owe Post Office £1,676.62 at 0% til September 2010

I have to second this (((sales addict))))

im wondering ( and you dont have to answer this if you dont want ;) )whether you "go shopping" to get out of the house?I only say this as I know my mum does. Be it that shes had words with dad, or hes asleep ( does funny shifts) or quite frankly shes bored and honestly doesn't know what else to do with herself. :o

If you werent so skint- Id suggest using the money to join a gym. Its a lovely pamper treat to excercise, plus theres swimming, jacuzzi, sauna -even sunbewds in mine ( i dont use them, but i know others do)

As a money-saving alternative- Id suggest a pedometer. My pru fitbug says 12000 is a good day. You could aim for that? It definitely helps with motivation.

OK did quite well today, bought the revitalift and 4 coconut conditioners from sains.
Did go to a boot sale and it was mainly traders- they had lipsticks foir £1 each that i prob would have bought before even though i dont use it often. so resisted that! :T

I have to say the offers on toiletries seem to not be abating- all supermarkets have had good deals- Ive not felt the need to buy extra deoderants/shower gel, even though we only have 1x full shower gel in stores each. However, Ill use some of the crap hotel minis as shower gel too. I know these offers will be on all year long- looks like a competitive market out there ;)

Well done to everyone sticking with it. I feel February being much more focused. Im now clear on what we use, how much, how often something needs to be replaced. In terms of hair styling products- only one thing in the whole month ( curl creme) has been finished.|A shower gel for me alone lasts just under 2 weeks. Conditioner for us both, a week. Shampoo- at least 2 weeks. Handwash- at least a month. Body butter - WHO KNOWS!

I dont think we will need anything aside from one shampoo in the whole of february. We will probably need mouthwash too.

CALLING JANUARYS TOILETRIES SPEND FOR 2- 19.33 ( rather shocking).

Aiming for February to be 5.00 or less.
Anyone else got a February Goal?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I second that! Keep us informed, Caramac. :T I wish there was an Aldi here, I would like to try Lacura and also the Siana moisturiser.

The siana moisturiser is really good, I use it all the time. Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear :o I'm happy to pick one up and post it to you if you want to try it - I live about 5 mins away from Aldi!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: at this! I'm the same, but with lipgloss.
I made a massive profit on my soap & glory hatbox which i'm well pleased about :)
^Well done :T I also salute you for being able to part with S&G!
