I'm not doing well at the moment.I'm ok for using things up and throwing items that have gone off away but I can't stop buying things which seem like bargains.I guess I get excited and my brain stops thinking.Today I popped into the body shop and spent £3.50 on 3 eyeshadows, a blusher and a packet of face cleansers. The eyshadows were 342 &£1 each the cleanser was £1 and the blusher was originally £14 reduced to £7 &£3 but sold to me for 50p as there was a mark on the lid.
I also managed to buy 2 hairsprays reduced to 36p from boots -I did need hairspray though and they were much cheaper than ellnette.
On the plus side I managed to use up a packet of bic aloe razors, have finally used up the listerine I was fed up with and binned a Time delay claryfying exfoliater which had gone off and an old sanctuary rosemary face mask which had dried up long ago.

  • Hello all and welcome to all the new members joining this challenge. I have decided not to bother with the list until my stash is sufficiently depleted so that its all in one place:o. But i have finished a body spray and deodorant so thats another £4 in the stash fund. Ive got £26 in there now so very pleased with myself. Also have decided to return yet more gift sets that are just not necessary at the mo, especially since my stash will probably get me through till xmas 2010 75% boots sale anyway:rotfl:. Have started using a roll on bought when there was a glitch that gave you 200 points (i think) on reduced boots roll on (approx 39p), but must say im not impressed, never used roll ons before and you have to wait ages before you can put your clothes on, is this normal? Think im going to have to throw out my sally hansen double duty top/base coat as its ruined my lovely nail polish, the surface looks all bumpy and it was smoot before i put it on.
Well got to get back to the kids.

    See you later

    Nab

    xx

Look at it this way: if you have so many things to use up that by the time you get round to using your 'bargains', they have gone off and are not nice/unhealthy to use, will it still be such a bargain then? Nope, it will be money wasted, no matter how cheap it was at the time. If your stash is so big that there is a realistic chance that this might happen by the time you get round to using the things you bought today, then STOP BUYING as it is just a time-delayed waste of your cash. Not very :money:. Look up how much it would cost you to now buy those two products that have gone off and tell yourself that you have, essentially, just wasted that cash and thrown it in the bin. OK, you might not have paid quite that much for the product if you are a bargain hunter, but given that you can't probably remember how much you paid originally as it was so long ago, then just take it as those totals for a guide. It's quite shocking when you start to tot it all up. x

I used to be like you and have gone cold turkey:j It's been about 3 weeks since I bought any toiletries.:j I do get tempted but ask myself: Do I need it? Unlikely as I have a very, very, very large stash of body products.:rotfl::eek:

You can do it. Think of all the money you'll save by not buying those so called bargains:j:j

Well, I'm still on the straight and narrow. I haven't been in Lush in about three weeks now - not that I need to frankly, with the mountain I got for Xmas and birthday. I haven't had my new Lush Times yet though, so that'll be the big test.

I emailed Lush and I received a Lush Times today:j:eek::cool:. Some new and expensive body creams but saw a new 3-piece bath melt that looks lovely, pink, soothing and moisturising. Won't be buying anything as I already have more than enough.

    I've been Money Tipped!
following my body butter review: I've been using Aveno, La source (crabtree and evelen) Body Shop hemp and an Italian brand recently and thought I'd say of the three available here I think body shop is most intensive. My second choice is my Italian brand (and would probably be first choice in summer) then La Source. I'd also recommend the aveeno though, its lighter than the Body shop hemp, both in texture and scent. It would be a good second one if you wanted one serious one nd one lighter one.. I lso note it says it is hand washing resistant: well, I ddn't try, but my hands didn't get stripped changing water and doing feeds at lunchtime, I came home and washed hands and noticed they were still well ''coated''. Also will add that the aveeno is the one that the tube has lasted least long of. I think this is because its light enough o reapply through out the day. For frequent hand washers a heavy cream might not be ideal, better a light one that absorbs well if its going o be applied frequently?

Anyway, I'm finding other people's opinions on different products useful, I'm hoping mine is too :o

Really, I think all four are excellent...but for different times. (Is this part of the problem? :)).

I'm filling up hand wash pumps with shower gel to get the stash down. Also really using body lotion & hand cream a lot more often - really notice a difference.
I have a tube of HC beside the sink & even one in the car determined to get a bit of space made.
I haven't bought any toiletries or cosmetics since before Christmas & won't until I've run out of something..........but that maybe a while.

I've used 3 more sachets of stuff - shampoo, conditioner + face scrub. I've also finished a handwash and a toothpaste. The handwash was Nivea Cashmere Moments: WIBA Yes, smelt gorgeous!

Oh god, where will it end? Having a clearout and spring clean in the bedroom, and found a small Badedas bath foam and badedas body wash in the wardrobe. Think I might rethink the Lush bathbomb tonight and chuck some Badedas in instead - there's probably only 3 or 4 baths in the bottle.

MsRed1 - I'm sure I've seen that 3 piece melt in one of the earlier Lush Times, because I've been looking out for it ever since. I was starting to think I'd imagined it - they must have just delayed the launch. I will resist though!
