I'm not sure I've noticed a huge difference (or any?) but then again, I am in my early 20's so I guess my skin doesn't need as much repairing yet. (Damn, that shrugging smilie seems to have disappeared aswell
)
I do very much enjoy all the attention I'm lathering on myself though.0 -
salesaddict wrote: »Need_a_break wrote: ». Maybe I will cut that down to one and go back to using jojaba oil with the cling film once a week. Well at least it gives the family a laugh to see me with hair mask and face mask on.:D

NB: I do mainly C/O wash. This really suits me..the tip given via the C/o washing thread about how to tell whether dry/damaged hair needs moisture or protein was REVOLUTIONARY and I've employed it constantly. The down side of curly hair is that it does need to be wet most days.
I have very dry hair, and very little of it too... I tend to lose a lot of hair when I wash it (usually twice a week as otherwise it gets super greasy). Often wondered if I'm lacking *something* that's making it like that, or if it's just the way it will always be!
Would be interested to know what it is, anyway.
Anyway...- I'm almost finished another mini foundation - brings my total to three used minis now. Will be all used up tomorrow, I reckon.
- Dumped a few nail polishes as they were so gloopy that they are unuseable
- Cocoa butter body cream is almost done too - shame because there's nothing better than smelling like chocolate! But I have plenty of others to keep me going.
- Tube of E45 is also empty (I use this as facial moisturiser as my skin is super sensitive).

C/o washing...conditioner only washing. I have tried various permutations of this, and could never ditch shampoo entirely...even though my hair likes conditioner only my soul likes shampoo:o. My hairdresser swaears I should never wash my hair NO more often than pnce a fortnight, and its only once I got into the C/o thread here got me I committed...and its better. DH has psoriasis and its dramatically better now hes cut down on shampoo.
The conditioners I use for C/o are a bit diferent: the value ones we tried on the c/o thread were not as good as conditioners for fine/flyaway hair. Its hard to put this on hair you know to be dry! A boots sea kelp one has actually been the best for me ...but we're not boots-ing...so ...;)
Edit: important...I added a ''no'' to what my hairdresser says...0 -
^Thanks for explaining. I've never heard of conditioner-only washing... first thing that springs to mind is how can conditioner wash your hair? Second thing, does it leave your hair greasy? A lot of conditioners do that to my hair.
I'm off to find that thread - it sounds interesting. I'll try anything, my hair causes me a lot of grief.0 -
Also for anyone that remembers i put 70 items last week on ebay and i made £370!! i was so shocked. So for anyone hanging onto items that you won't use... do it!! i'm going to pay off my CC with it!
:T:T:T:TWell done from me too. I really think this is a great way to go if you've got masses of stuff and you feel you're never going to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Can I ask what exactly the OCM (oil cleansing) is, I keep seeing it mentioned but must have missed the original explanation and this thread seems to grow by the minute.
QUOTE]
I don't do the full method, I just use basic almond oil as a cleanser and make-up remover. My skin has become much more balanced and moisturised , none of that tightness after washing feeling, (need to use far less face cream too, so that lasts longer) and I'm so pleased with the results. I honestly won't ever be buying cleanser/ toner /wipes again , which strip the skin, needing you to buy more and more products to repair the damage (Cunning ploy!!) My almond oil costs me £1.70 and lasts for 6 months.0 -
Hmm, it would be 9 nights so maybe pushing it a bit. I'll take your advice and get a small bottle to do a test-drive.
If it doesn't work out I could either take 2 of each bottle, or take one big(ish) bottle of shower gel/shampoo in one. Not sure what good that'd do me though for looking elegant in the sun. :rotfl:
TBH depending on the sort of holiday and my luggage allowance, I often just take one bottle of Dove shampoo and use it for hair, body , shaving legs and washing out smalls0 -
Been up since 5am, can't sleep due to a stuffy nose, so have listed two items on eBay. A dress I got from DP and don't slate me for this...but a S&G hatbox I bought to sell for profit... I am a student and proud that i'm not keeping it!! Got a few more bits to put up too.0

Thanks for sharing what products you like and don't like.
Personally I will never stop buying Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, seriously expensive at £49 for 50 ml. I have a tendency to get psoriasis in my forehead and after having used the night repair for a few months, I have had no flare ups at all. I have decided that the money that I save for not buying any toiletries and using up what I got will go towards a new night repair and then the rest I will save. I also really like Liz Earle's Skin repair moisturiser for dry/sensitive skin and have used this for years.
Good luck everyone with the challenge. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0
