Thanks in advance
£195+ free delivery, watch for the 5 year warrantee flashing across the screen as if it was free, same as delivery, money back guarantee, etc.It took 1 week to deliver.I have copied the warrantee literature but cannot post it, forgot how, any help?0 -
Hi, I shopped around and found Ebac direct cheapest by approx £30, so that would pay for your extra 3 year warrantee, thats comparing, argos, comet, etc. There may be cheaper I no not about.

Long term lurker-first time poster. Just had laptop for christmas. I am finding this very interesting as I have just purchased the 2650e for £169.99 free postage and I hope free 5 year warranty direct from ebac.
I have only had it on for a few days, have collected alot of water - 2 pints each night- but my windows are still always wet through in the mornings. How long will it be before I see an improvement? I just hope it works-am fed up with having to keep drying windows-get through an alarming amount of kitchen towel rolls!
I have a 3 bed semi and have sited it on the landing- if it was lighter would have it downstairs at night but cant manage to carry it down every night.
Thanks and happy new year to you all.0 -
Hi, EU law states there is 2 years minimum warrantee on all goods.
There is no such "EU Law" - this is a very widespread and persistent urban myth.
Your consumer rights within the UK are covered by the Sale of Goods Act, which does ~not~ mandate a 2 year warranty.chrissie_bond wrote: »I have a 3 bed semi and have sited it on the landing- if it was lighter would have it downstairs at night but cant manage to carry it down every night.
Is there a good reason why you don't just leave it downstairs all the time? I'm fairly sure that from a health point of view it is best to have relatively high humidity in a bedroom while you are sleeping, so unless you have a major damp problem upstairs, that would seem to be better.0 -
Thanks for your comments. If I keep it downstairs in the hall (which is central) there is a radiator and in the instructions it says best not to put it near a radiator. The condensation is bad on every window-slightly worse in rooms that are slept in. My 19year old is home from uni and is not keen on sleeping with his door open and the noice it makes! He has just emptied it for me - another 2 pints during today and I will leave it on in lounge all night. All comments I have read about them seem to be good so I am keeping my fingers crossed.0

I have a 4 bedroom semi which is draughty and Edwardian. The dehumidifier has reduced the amount of condensation but has not got rid of it. I don't really see how it can, single glazed windows get very cold at night and any warm humid air touching them will cause condensation.
I usually put it in a bedroom, at least part of the time.
I have a 2850e and it does not dry up the rooms excessively but removing damp air does make the house feel warmer and more comfortable.0 -
Hi, this is all very interesting. I still hope that with having the ebac on all the time I will get up in the morning to dry windows! My house is a semi built in 1950 and is double glazed and am waiting to have cavity wall insulation done. What I cant understand is why the house thats attached to mine doesnt have any at all! They do more cooking than I do and they dry clothes on a drier in the hall. I have read up alot on the ebac and most users say how wonderful they are although I remember once reading they can take up to 4 weeks to solve a big condensation problem - I cant seem to find that statement again now though. I have just taken down the christmas tree and there is mould on the skirting board - bleach will be out again tomorrow!!
Many thanks for your thoughts.0 -
Can i ask why you all have so much condensation?
I noticed recently in my loft there was condensation but this was due to us being home over xmas with the heating on most of the day and drying clothes indoors. Since stopping this it has now cleared up (alot). Conden on the windows has stopped as well.
Do you open windows when showering/cooking etc?0 -
I just dont know why I get so much condensation! Before I started using the dehumidifier I was opening windows etc when showering and cooking but the instructions say to keep windows closed when in use. I have a dryer thats in the garage and I dont do alot of cooking anyway. I am waiting to have cavity wall insulation done so I hope that will help.
I seem to be getting 3 pints a day (water that is) from the dehumidifier so it obviously works. I cant see it solving the condensation downstairs as well as up when it is on the landing but perhaps I should give it more time.
Thanking you for any comments.0
