i understood from the manual that green fan = normal filter mode ie. the filters that come with the unit. yellow fan = different filter to purify air ie. need to buy these sperately. we didnt so havent used this setting to comment.
the fan stops rotating when unit is off. see picture as it is at the mo.0 -

Hi again, thanks for info and picture, I just presumed I had all filters so went to yellow, maybe I don.t, I will check.I have never seen mine off like yours, so it must be on permanently, either because of humidity still too high , or a fault. The fan icon is always on.if I don,t have all filters then I will turn to green, have done before, never noticed any change in fan speed? which to me is all that can change is because of adding extra filters, does that sound logic?0

The bactiguard filter has it printed on it (white outer side), which is what I use. Changing filters doesn't alter fan settings.
My one is like the picture, fan goes off automatically on green (but doesn't when yellow.)
It can take a while for the "smart" bit to settle in. In which case it may be still on permanently, or maybe it switches off when you are not looking?0 -

the manual is confusing. i could only advise re-reading it whilst pressing the buttons so you can see what does what. on the other hand could you have set it to be permanently on?. press the fan button until the red light appears (switched off) then once again to go to lowest speed mode. this is the smartmode. leave on this until the system has completed its analysus of your humidity and then press mode until the econ symbol appears. this is the same as smart but comes on less. which is what i have it set to.
the fan speed doesnt change on its own, you can do it but whatever you set it to (fast or slow) it is either that or off as it requires. (sorry does this make sense?)

I have always understood that as warm air cools, it releases the moisture so I mainly run mine at night when the house is cooling down. It seems to be more effective that way but this might be silly science on my part.
I actually have two. I keep the second for occasional use in a particular damp trouble spot or for when I am drying laundry.
Actually I would be interested to know if anyone can recommend an independent humidity sensor. I bought two and they both read differently!0 -
Hello I have been in the loft to collect my Christmas decs and found that the boxes are wet!! This is because the "new" (10 years old) roof has a plastic liner that makes it "sweat", I have installed vents around the sofits but it is sweating very badly this year and the boxes are wet. Not good. So I think I will have to replace the vents, may be blocked with dirt not venting like they should, and install a humidifier to run in the loft, as don't want the timbers rotting, they are wet about 1 inch down.
So my question is why did you buy this one? There are so many to choose from.
Any help appreciated.
