Me too. A bit pricey but seems to be worth it. Having said that my one is over 5 years old and I occasionally get problems with it icing up.

Hi,I changed to green yesterday, lo and behold, 6am today, it switched off."Magic". They are the Top rated model, but pricey. Don,t know whether to take the extra 3 years warrantee for £30, I was led to believe it was a free 5 year warrantee, the website is very deceiving. It just keeps flashing "5 year warantee", no mention you have to pay £30 for 3 years, and return card to get free 2nd year.Did you know where the cheapest place for filters is. Ebac have £5 delivery charge, and are £5 each, pack of 3.

Hello I have been in the loft to collect my Christmas decs and found that the boxes are wet!! This is because the "new" (10 years old) roof has a plastic liner that makes it "sweat", I have installed vents around the sofits but it is sweating very badly this year and the boxes are wet. Not good. So I think I will have to replace the vents, may be blocked with dirt not venting like they should, and install a humidifier to run in the loft, as don't want the timbers rotting, they are wet about 1 inch down.

So my question is why did you buy this one? There are so many to choose from.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you
Hi, Just replaced facia, soffits, etc. Dehumidifier is no good for your problem, it needs air.Get a couple of new vented Ridge tiles fitted, and a few vented tiles before any serious damage is done to joists. I had several rotten joist ends spliced, all down to circulation.Your plastic liner should have been breathable if it,s only 10 years old.Can you put air bricks in gable ends of loft?

Just to say, I have an Ebac 2650e - which, going from the pictures, is a downrated 2850e. Given that I have a smaller house, it is ideal for me.

Before this 2650e, I had a cheapo B&Q thing (EHS BQWDH-610HA) which was on constantly, and even then struggled to draw get the humidity level below 55%.

With my Ebac, the levels tend to be below 55% and I don't have half as much condensation on the windows as I used to. To add to the existing benefits, it's not even on as much as last dehumidifier - and it uses the same amount of electricity when running on full speed (+/- 165w), so I can only hope I am saving money too!
Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.

i asked about the warranty and the reply was that the ones bought direct from ebac automatically receive a 5yr warranty. so as far as i was led to believe i am covered. if you want to ask for a copy of the 'certificate' they will send. i asked because the literature wanted me to purchase extra cover as well, i guess standard mail shot included in box.

would recommend you email to confirm you have the same.

Just out of interest, how do you measure humidity levels?
I just checked and my 2850e was bought in November 2006 with a 1 year guarantee and it looks like icing up in it is getting worse I'm assuming that this is a fault but I've mailed ebac for advice.
Will let you know what they say but it won't be until next year.

    Hi, EU law states there is 2 years minimum warrantee on all goods.+ it has to last a ""reasonable time". There,s a thread on it somewhere on here, perhaps someone else knows the thread.Sounds like it,s not defrosting enough.Check the threads for warrantees;

    Cheers Joe

    Happy New Year!
  • Hi guys, thinking of getting an eBac 2650 or 2850, any advice for finding the cheapest deals (and ensuring the 5 year cover is valid)?

    Thanks in advance
