Getting there slowly, someone on here recommended me to Beadazzle beads, and they have some free tutorials on line if you sign upto news letterKandipandi wrote: »I love Beads & Beyond Magazine, see here , I bought the latest one today in hobbycraft but have seen it my local newsagent too, its about £3.99 or so and comes out monthly. There are lots of lovely bits and its not all make your own glass beads and findings yourself (i'm nowhere near that level yet!!) . There are lots of advertisers in the back for supplies too which I find useful. Give it a go.
Thank you both Susan and Kandipandi :T Both look fab and loads of ideas. Excatly what I need xx
Just finishing some photo books for two big birthdays coming up then straight back into my jewellery making0 -
Bit miffed
Spent what seems like all morning trying to make a button bracelet with one of my swatch watch straps and I don't like it at all............even OH pulled a face..............not sure whether it might be that I'm running out of pretty colour buttons............it just looks a bit too drab...............so, back to the drawing board I think;)
I felt the same way yesterday, mary-op. Everything I tried went wrong and the Peyote bracelet I've been trying to make has been unpicked 4 times so far and I'm still not happy with it! Just can't get it right for some reason.
Today has been better though and I hope to post a pic soon. Hope you're feeling refreshed today and ready to start again
Question Ladies, please! When you make a chain bracelet with fairly heavy beads on it, how do you stop the lighter clasp side from riding up to the top of your wrist when you wear it? IYSWIM. I mean the clasp ends up on display and all the beads are hanging underneath your wrist.
Lovely makes as usual Kandipandi, I also prefer the dragonfly - but all very pretty.:TLove the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

Thanks
I know what you mean. I always try to ensure there is an even spread of heavy beads all the way around and I like to put a nice charm near the clasp or use a nice unusual toggle clasp to make a bit of a feature of the clasp rather that trying to shuffle it around all the time (which I do!).You can stand there and agonize........

Thanks for your encouragement. Well I had another go today after I'd bought some buttons from the charity shop............sewed them onto some tape of similar colour and used velcro for the fastening...........quite pleased with it so might have a go at another now.......:jI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
