Hope you enjoyed the NEC Rusty and got loads of goodies. I got my Promarkers today and I`m not very good with them. I suppose practice makes perfect!

You are so kind about the bracelet I made for you. I thoroughly enjoyed making it... my fav colours!

Hope you are sitting down and relaxing now!

i was putting together a tutorial on the double weave for the crystal cuff when by chance i came across a video that showed you how to do it instead! result or what!!! it also has some other good vids for basic jewellery techniques aswell as vids on peyote and herringbone weave stitches which you may find useful :)

    http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-stitch-double-needle-right-angle-weave-beading-223090/

I saw that video the other day and I couldn't understand how the second row is done. I've watched 3 different ones so far and still none the wiser.

I got a book from the library with various stitches and I've managed to do Peyote and Net, but I just can't get this Right-angle Weave :(

I've tried the two needle and one needle method and I'm doing something wrong (obviously), but I don't know what. I usually end up with a messy tangle of thread, beads in a bunch and lots of swearing and *blush* even tears of frustration!

Lovely makes everyone. There's so many of you posting pics now I can't keep up, so apologies for not mentioning you by name. Haven't been on here quite so much in the last few days due to some complaints about late/burnt dinners :o

Well I have not been making new stuff as much as altering stuff I have already made.
I did make my necklace from shell pieces I bought at hobby craft, here it is:

This is it on so you can see how long it is:

I have been to the car boot sale today and picked up a 10p coloured bead necklace so I have taken it apart and will produce something later this week (I couldn't resist 10p!)

Also my DH went to MIL's and she sent me a very old broken crystal necklace belonging to her grandmother, I was delighted, I have taken it to bits and cleaned it and will have to make a bracelet for my MIL and me!

I'm currently bogged down with doing a scrapbook -sort of family tree kind- for my son for christmas.......then I have to do one for the other son.........thats without things to do with buttons, recycle scarf and rack my brain to think of other thigs that'll cost next to nothing this year...............lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Wow, Kandi, your necklace is absolutely gorgeous and very original! Well done! :T

You're lucky you got those pretty crystal beads from your MIL.

People often give me broken jewellery. I always give the old beads a good clean and re-use them to make new pieces of jewellery. I then offer them to those people and they're just amazed at what I can do with their 'junk'!

Mary - Thanks! I almost tried scrapbooking, I bought some lovely bits intending to make my Mum one a few years ago but then didn't know where to start. I have done cards so thought it would be simple but I lost inspiration.
I am also hoping to make most of my gifts this year, we will see :)
