hart44 - that watch is beautiful and those pink beads are so pretty too. I bet you get asked about it when you are out and about as its so lovely, and you can say - I made it, and make em all jealous
LoLo - for tying elastic thread I asked my hubbie for advice for a strong knot (as he is a fisherman) and I tie a grinner knot (but only pass the thread through about 2-3 times) and then stick a dab of Hypo Cement on there afterwards.
None have snapped yet (touching wood) and I am quite rough with them. You can stand there and agonize........

Thank you Kandi, I love your work, yes I have my DD's friends wanting me to make them bracelets too
I always have a look on here every day to see the nice bracelets and earings you have made and the other jewelery everyone has done
Im slowly finding time to do more :rotfl: and it will be Easter hols soon so loads planned
Im very lucky to have a wonderful bead shop close to me so its like being a kid in a sweet shop when I go in and they are so helpful. Im going to sighn up for one of their jewelery classes to learn a bit more as what I have done so far is just by trial and error :rotfl:Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Had such problems with some buttons and elastic cotton........needles that take the cotton are too thick to go through the buttons I wanted to make a bracelet from.
So, having a forage yesterday, I found some swatch watch straps ......thought I could sew the buttons on to the strap...........be much easier with ordinary thread - plus there's a fastener..........so think that prob. might be solved.........I've been fed up looking at these buttons..............lol
Love the beaded watch:TI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I had a problem with the elastic going through twice in the beads and the lady in the bead shop told me I was using the wrong thickness and advised me on the type I needed, I was a bit worried at 1st as it looked thin that it woud break but she stretched the heck out of it to show me it is ok :rotfl:
On the site I found the bead watch strap there is a bracelet made from felt or fabric and covered in buttons and fastened with a snap fastener

I just wanted to pop on to say thankyou to POPPY. I went to the NEC yesterday with a bunch of ladies from the cardmaking thread, I was very late getting back home (11:30pm!) and when I arrived home I had a lovely parcel, it was the bracelet I asked poppy to make for me!! It is so beautiful and very very prettily(is that even a word?) packaged!!
Thankyou so much! I will pop a picture on my blog tomorrow when I can walk a bit better!! xxRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
