I agree, get a bead board they are about £3 - £5 and are brilliant. In addition to this I use the lid from an old tupperware container with a bit of felt cut to fit to stop my beads rolling all over.
Working with seed beads I pinch a few at at time and roll them till I can see the hole and thread them on like that. I have only really used them as spacers and fillers, not really done loads of seeds at a time. If working with elastic or threads get a beading needle and pick them up on the needle about 6 or so at a time - have a look at seed beeding on youtube and you will see the rather accomplished beaders at work.
I use Youtube loads for help on how to do bits and bobs, its useful just to see them working for hints and tips in general.

Thanks all for above. Good tip to look at You Tube, I never think of looking there first.

I put some of the seeds along with some other beads onto memory wire bracelets. I seem to be having a problem choosing colours and beads that go together so I just bunged on everything but the kitchen sink. :o. Are the glass chips wrong on here? Be honest pls, I need some critique or I won't learn to improve!

Also made myself a pair of earrings. Made another cascade type earring but when it was finished I didn't like it, so didn't bother to make the 2nd one!

I don't know if I'll ever make things good enough to sell, but I'm having great fun and it stops me eating too much in the evenings :j

i actually like your second earring better, they are a lovely and very popular design and as its wedding season coming up soon I think they would go down a treat for a bridesmaid or bride to be.

Also I think you have a fabulous eye for colour! the bracelets are great and summery and would be perfect to wear this holiday season.

As for selling, why dont you give it a try, you dont have anything to lose apart from a few quid listing fees on ebay.

I agree, they are great, I love all the colours together. Would the glass chips be uncomfortable to wear on your arm, would they dig in? Just a thought.

The earrings are lovely, I like the long one but if you are not sure try taking the chain off the bottom, fold it in half and attach it back on so that the dangly chain is half the length but there are two bits (sorry my explanation would be better in person!!).

Thanks all for your kind words :)

Kandipandi, I will try folding that chain, good idea. No, the glass chips aren't uncomfortable at all, I did wonder about that myself initially.

Ive caught the making bug recently and having great fun making bracelets and wouldnt mind trying necklaces but not sure how to.Ive looked on the internet but cant find the answer so please could anyone advise - would be okay using tigertail wire and beads? or do you use different thread to make them hang better? with my bracelets theya re just wire with beads on then a clasp at the end

Once I take some photos I will load them on here so you can all have a look

tigertail is a popular choice for necklaces and bracelets, its very durable (nylon coated wire) and theres a variety of types and colours to choose from. I would opt for a 7 strand tigertail to try out with first, there are other unbranded nylon coated wire on the market that do the job just aswell and are a little cheaper on the pocket.Have a look at jillybeads as they have a nice choice. I personally like working with illusion thread, its transparent and hard to break (same as fishing line or parachute cord - if you happen to have any lying around :)) but it can be prone to kinking, or you could try memory wire for a nice choker necklace. I've just bought some satin ribbon which I'm going to try making a necklace with some focal beads on it.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Just a quick word of warning I have gotten a nasty virus today from Photobucket, if you are in photobucket and your PC appears to run a virus scan, its not real, dont click anything, I did..... my poor DH has to rebuild the PC and work will have to rebuild my poor laptop tomorrow
eta. it is not a virus but spyware, managed to remove it fronm PC but no Laptop.

Kandi if you're still struggling with removing it drop me a PM and I'll give you some contact details :) In a former life I used to run the tech support desk for one of the large AV companies ;)
As for the malware coming from photobucket... doubtful - sorry. The only way it would be on there is if it's been hacked and I'm pretty sure I'd have heard about that :) But it all depends on exactly what you have got infected with etc :)
