Hey jamtart try here http://www.littlebeader.com/tiaras.htm they sell gold £1.70 and silver plated £1.50 tiara bases plus pre wired beads and leaves for just over 20p a stem.
They list some ideas here http://www.littlebeader.com/make_it_yourself4.htm.
If you plan to wire wrap then the gauge of the wire depends on how moveable to wish the bead stems to be remember the lower the gauge the thicker the wire.
I use a 26 gauge as you can twist the wire by hand. When you start going thicker you will need to use pliers. JB sell the sterling silver wire for £25.85 for 22 metres.
JB also sell the swarovski bicones in sizes from 2.5mm -8mm. You would need a mix of sizes for a half crown tiara.
A bulk buy of 6mm bicones is £33.49 from JB and these are clear AB ( reflects light and colour).
An alternative to the swarovski are the fire polish rounds 6mm size 50 in a pack are £1.20.
There is also this kit http://www.mailorder-beads.co.uk/graces-tiara.html in gold or silver, but I imagine you want to make a fuller one???
Just found this kit too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Large-Victoria-Tiara-Kit-%2f-Clear-AB-Swarovski-Crystals_W0QQitemZ260480524649QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=c013ca581200a0aad47667a6ff9e74bd

Just found this kit on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JEWELLERY-MAKING-KIT-BEADS-FINDINGS-TOOLS-TIGERTAIL-ETC_W0QQitemZ260526414436QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Crafts_JewelleryMaking_GL?hash=item3ca8959a64 seems like good value for a starter kit.

hi all im just getting together some supplies to start making my jewellery
im wanting to make some bracelets with the stretchy "wire" (you know the sort the see through stuff lol) but im not too sure which thickness im going to need? im putting on it swarovski crystals with poss a few slightly bigger beads, im just looking now and theres all different thicknesses, im so confused.com!
Also when you make the memory wire bracelets where do you guys get your beads from? Youve all made lovely bracelets with a wide variety of beads but my collection which ive bought so far arent nearly as nice, can you get a "wholesale" size bag as maybe a starter bag, and what are the larger beads called?
Sorry for all the questions lol x0
