It does
(but probably only because I have been nosing in our local hobby craft to get ideas today LOL)
I'd probably put each amber "bead" on in place of a 88mm bead and use a loop pin and put something on the end of it... Mmmmm ideas sparking off now LOLDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hubby was working from home yesterday so I was internet-less. I threw myself into making a few jewellery sets.
Here is my necklace using eye pins and jump rings.
Below is one of my favourite sets I have made - the colours are so pretty.

Lovely pictures everyone - I'm very impressed :T! Love the sets you've done Poppy - great colours.
I'm just wondering about people's thoughts on sterling silver and silver plated beading wire/findings/beads etc. I've been making quite a few items and yesterday ordered some more expensive beads as I've built up my confidence. I want to make some presents with these that will hopefully look professional and last well. Is it best to get sterling silver or silver plated? Or does it not really matter if you get either? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for where to get these from at a reasonable price?
Thank you!0 -
Well the charity shops round here certainly know what to charge for anything with usable beads! I bought a bracelet and a necklace though - the necklace is THOUSANS of orange glass beads (the tiny ones - no idea what they're called LOL) and some pain in the neck (literately) plastic disks. So have been painstakingly been cutting them out of the necklace as frankly I like it and will use it as is
I might remove a few strands from it to make matching earrings though.
The bracelet is pearl style beads mainly and some semi-precious stones on an elasticated band - easy to dismantle to reuse with the "fittings" already thereBonus!

poppy- theyre lovely, do you sell them? they look really professional.
juby- i would use sterling silver, its not terribly expensive and ive found plate can chip off, especially on ear wires and clasps, bits that are rubbed a lot.0 -

Ive been thinking about making some "vintage" style jewellery using charity shop finds but like you say MrsTine the prices are . I remember that programme Mary Queen of Charity Shops where she went in and tried to get the things priced more competitively in one town.
I`m after old pearls, the dark creamy ones- absolutely beautiful- and plan to add some vintage looking charms to them and possibly some cameo charms.
Sometimes my local Summer Fete has a bric-a-brac stall selling old jewellery for something like 10p a necklace but having to brave the razor sharp elbows of some folk to get to them is enough to put me off
Ive been having a good sort out today and came across some old necklaces I had bought from Primark and have taken them apart to get the beads I wanted off them... it probs much cheaper to go to Primark for necklaces to pull apart rather than the charity shops!
Over on "Its a fiddle fart" blog - the lady has used a fab butterfly necklace from Primark to make some beautiful cards- showing jewellery can be used for more things than its intended purpose!

Thanks crazy_girl I have an Etsy Shop but haven`t been listing jewellery for long on it so its early days.
Since leaving work I wanted to do have a hobby that I could potentially make a few pounds from but its working on new things and marketing as the competition on jewellery is fierce!
