Crafty - that's a silly way for a grown woman to behave. I am always happy to share any advice I can as at some point I am having to ask for advice and help too, that is just the way the world works.
I think the fact that she has unfriended you is for the best, she had probably seen the fabulous things you have made and is worried that if you make something that she does yours will be FAR better than hers. Silly C%w!

Oh crafty I am the same I come across all tough but things like that really get to me. Try not to let it and just smile sweetly next time you see her.
I bought myself a bracelet today, I felt naughty as I should have made one but I had to have it, have a look its got bees on and they are my favourite things:

In my defence it was half price £7.50 - my question is where can I buy Bee charms to make something similar?
    TIA x

It is like fimo, but a bit stickier and I find it a little harder to handle. The only nice thing about it is that they do some really nice colours - I buy all my pink shades in sculpey as they are better than the fimo colours :) It's a bit cheaper than fimo as well.

You can mix the two clay types together.

I'd also suggest if you are starting with polymer clay that you get some fimo "quick mix" it's really good for making the clay stretch further without altering the colour if you don't want to use white to do this and it will make the stuff a bit softer too.

I get mine from craft cellar - they have great customer service and are the cheapest I've found (but I do tend to buy the stuff in kilo quantities!) They also sell sculpey clay too. Lats time I ordered from them, it was on my desk within two days - I was very impressed!

Edited to add: Have you tried etsy for bee charms? (change the handmade tab at the top to supplies when you search - they often have great findings on there!) http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_query=bee+charms&search_type=supplies

Sculpey is very similar to fimo, I've never used though. I think the colours are a bit different and I'm not sure what it's like to work with I'm afraid. It's a pretty good buy. I got a bargain of 24 x 28g blocks for £7.95 (roughly) + postage. That retails at £23 odd, you could get the same one on eBay if you wait, but the sculpey one is still pretty good if you want it now.sorry if that's not much help.

Another couple of tips is that you dont need to buy any fancy tools for fimo, I use a set of craft blades/knives from a £1 shop, a wooden kebab skewer and a toothpick. I have found things lying around for making circle shapes etc. Im not sure if used it before but prepared to become addicted lol. its so easy and versatile.

Agree absolutely - a cocktail stick is the best tool you can have for this! I think the tools sold for clay aren't very useful.

I use sugarcraft cutters, but that's only because I started using clay to make supports for drying sugarcraft items so had all the kit. I also use a dissection kit as well (never used for it's original purpose I hasten to add!) but then I work in miniture most of the time, so mounted needles are really useful!

Crafty, there is some Fimo ending in an hour. it looks like Fimo classic as it is 65g blocks, I think that comes straight from Germany. the ones we usually buy are 56g. A couple are used, but if you like the colours and it doesnt go above £4/5 then i think its a good buy to mess around with.

Fimo classic is a lot firmer than the fimo soft. it can be hard to work with at the start and a bit crumbly, but its great for moulding and rolling. I find soft sometimes stick to the rolling pin. Fimo also doesnt dry out, so I wouldnt worry that the already open packets have dried up or anything.
