I haven't posted for ages, but I do try to keep up with the reading of the thread. I think Folksy is a good place to start with the selling. Jewellery is a saturated market so we are always competing harder than everyone else which is a shame.

I've also got my own website (link in profile if anyone wants a nosey). Only just started that and it's slow but I'm hoping time will help.

I mostly use my website, I think I have a misi shop, but haven't done anything on there for a while, I also think I have a folksy shop.

Other sales come from doing craft fairs, and word of mouth.

I am going to try my hand at wire weaving later ( makes a change from my usual wirework, just hope it goes better than my first attempts at chainmaille)

    Afternoon everyone :)

I have shop on Folksy, DaWanda & my Facebook Fan page has a shop too, I'm thinking of opening a shop on Esty too...but not yet. I feel word of mouth has worked best for me so far :)

I've just blogged a new collection I put together last night if you'd like a nosey :) I've called it 'Come On England' I'd love your opinions on them x

when i sold my jewellery. it all started when my parents owed a shop i sold it there but when their shop shut it got me thinking. i made up lots of different types and took a selection of items with me around various nice gift shops. i tried to not have more than one or two selling out lets in each town. i live on the isle of wight, so i was able to get shops in sandown, newport, yarmouth and godshill. most wanted to have it on sale of return. i would say how much i wanted for each piece and they would add a bit on top for themselfs. one shop tho would buy outright off me. and then once a month i would phone them and they would order more. or if it sold well they would phone me earlier and i would take extra to the shops. it worked very well. i was so busy i spent day and night making at one point. once you get an outlet it is easy to work from it.
i only wanted it to be a little hobby but it soon quickly took off, i was amazed. once i passed my driving test at 17 it made it alot easier to get around to show my bits off. i don't make to sell anymore, but if i was going to start up again i would definatly follow the same formula as i did before. and 11 years on most of the shops are still going, so might even be able to return to my old outlets.

jewellery parties are excellent. my mum always used to host them for me. what was great was i would have everything to hand so if someone wanted something exact or in a different bead design i could show them what beads i had and take orders etc or if someone needed a bracelet bigger or smaller i could make the alterations there and then for them.

good luck with your first party.
