  • Just talked to DH about it and he said to wait and find out if any schools actually recognise the qualification. I have a CRB check still from childminding which is from my LA. Also have passed my high level security check for the police...just a money spinner if I needed to get another bloomin one but I don't doubt for a second you are lying BB-would be typical of them to expect that.

I am also seriously considering going down to 4 days a week at work, I am just finding everything so much at the minute-work/home/family etc.

Just had a total stress on the kids about the house being a tip and then had to take a chill pill. It's Christmas after all isn't it!

BB I agree about CRB checks - here you need one for each group you work with, so if you do work for 4 different groups, even though they all come under the same council department, you need 4 different checks, madness!

Lou, your mum is totally insane! In a good way!, well done her.

Buffy, book early for any courses, I tried to book in September and it was far too late. More 16 year olds are going into education because there aren't the jobs there. I'm trying to decide what to do next September, I need to register in Jan.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

if it's the NCFE level 2, it's recognised as the qualification used in schools.

It is a money spinner, yes. Sadly CRB's can't be ported at the moment so you'd need one for the local authority, the one when you were childminding wouldn't be valid any more unless you've done any childminding in the last 3 months. We have someone in the police who joined as a tutor in September and we had to get him a CRB! Even if I got a job in another department in the council they would do another CRB if it was an enhanced one needed - which I already have - it's barking.

There is supposed to be a new database coming in next year. Any employer you have a current one with will enter it on the database and then any other employer can search for it. The ones I get involved in take around 3 weeks to come through at the moment which is a pain when you have a new assessor/tutor and you need them to be working.

I would go for it :D

  • Long story but I got most of the money for the items that were taken. Social Services paid for this. However, further investigations have shown that more things were taken! Grrrrrrrrrr! Hey ho, can't turn back the clock and I'm still standing! Thanks for asking :)
