Thanks for the info BB and Lou, I shall look into it, one of my friends who is a TA in a school is talking to her Head as they have acouple of positions so who knows...
Also looking into taking a barbering course at college. Really wish I could just go back to college full time and do a hair dressing course.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
I feel excited at treating myself to them to be honest.
I don't normally go for anything 'frivolous'
any thoughts on a car Sally?

why don't you?
Our hairdresser learners are all ages - we have an introduction to hairdressing course and then you do the NVQ level 2 in hairdressing and do everything you need to learn - cutting, perming, colouring etc. It is a class per week for 2 years so you could also do a full time job and you don't need a hairdressing related placement whilst you do it.

Ummm, another option BB.
I have been offered a trainee position (kind off the cuff but serious if you know what I mean?) as a barber.
I called the WMC the other day (again) and said I was concerned as I have this holiday booked in April and I didn't want it to jeapordise my chance of getting the next CSO position that comes up and the lady I sopke to said there aren't any jobs and that I was ok for April. !!!!!!.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
I would give your local FE college and your local adult learning places a tinkle as everywhere has different ways of delivering the courses. Most courses start September but some start January and could still have places on them. You could take the trainee position - you'd still do the NVQ at the same time but on the job. The learner who cut and coloured my hair last time was just finishing her NVQ. She works at her Dad's barbers and then comes to class once a week.

I'm waiting for a camembert to bake, I'm having that with a herby foccacia. It was supposed to be my starter yesterday but I wasn't hungry enough. For some reason I always seem to eat less at xmas than on normal days!
I'm also drinking berry tea with a generous slug of rum in it to help with my cold.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Sounds good. They might do their own CRB unless it's a council one you have (for that local authority). It's a mad system at the moment - one of my assessors already had 2 and a police check and I still had to get her one for where I work!
Also check out any concessionary fees they might have. Stuff like WTC often triggers a discount.

Just got back from Charity Boxing day dip, over 700 people took part and the support was superb, Mam ran into the sea (which was actually warmer than the air temp) dressed as a Christmas fairy, she went in up to her waist but didnt put her head in and I dont blame her.
Some of the fancy dress costumes were amazing it was a really good experience all around...........well done Mam:TBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
