Hi Lainz -sorry -I didn't see your first post...
Are you planning on doing the 27ct over 2 strands? -If so then there will be very little difference between the sizings given for the original 14ct.
-if the design area is 7"X9" then it would work out as 7 1/4" X 9 1/3" - and I always allow 3" on each side to allow for framing -it allows for a mount and gives you a bigger choice of frame sizes too;) (although I know a lot do less) -so I would be cutting my fabric 13 1/4" X 15 1/3" - hope those merry ramblings make sense-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I would do the same, although I couldn't explain it as well. It's sounds very generous but necessary if you plan using a mount. If you don't and end up cutting off 2 inch strips, you could make bookmarks with them. Waste not want not !

Does anyone else use one of those metal needle threaders to get a couple more stitches out of the end of their thread?
I hadn't thought about it until the other day when I thought I had finished a section so went under some stitches on the back and trimmed the end off the thread. I then realised I had missed 2 stitches and had no more of that colour left!
I thought about modifying it by either using another colour or leaving the stitches out completely but on looking at the finished picture neither of those were a possibility.
I unpicked a few stitches and put in the ones I had missed but then was still left with very short thread and obviously still had 2 stitches missing. I ended up putting the needle halfway through the fabric, threading it with needle threader, then pulling it through and repeating until finally I had got another 2 stitches out of the thread.
It's a bit fiddly but now I do it at the end of a length of thread everytime and usually end up getting an extra 2 or 3 stitches out of my thread where previously I thought it was too short to do any more with.
Reading that back it seems a bit rambling but I know what I mean :rotfl:
You should let the group know if you are missing a couple of threads you only need to do a couple of stitches - you could maybe get some from one of us (I am sure the group would). I know I have a box with odds and ends of threads - excess from kits and the free wee kits in mags.
