Bit of a question tho...... the magnets, coaster and keyrings are too thin - I have had to use sellotape to keep the 2 sides together - are there special ones you need to buy that are deeper???

Great work chickywiggle...I have a few coasters, fridge magnets and key rings to use...will let you know how I get on with them...looking at them more closely, they do look a bit thin though....might try some evenweave work in them.

MRSM - I also have to have my stitching at boob level :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The lap frame usually has it high enough, but if I'm working at the bottom of the frame (and being too lazy to move the fabric:o) I just stick a cushion on my knee to raise it up :)

Keiss - I too usually use cardboard strip and punch holes to feed the threads in. I like your idea of laminating it first though - not something I had thought of, but will definitely be trying that out, thanks.

    Ps - Go Andy!!!:j:j:rotfl:

Edited to add: Just read online that Nadal has withdrawn due to injury so Murray has gone through.

  • Hi Everyone, Im new to this thread. I have been cross stiching since I was 8 but stopped in my 20s. I am now 31 and recovering from a nervous breakdown, it was reccommended that if I started cross stiching again it might help me. I used to have quite a stock of stuff but it turns out my mum gave it al to charity as I hadnt bothered for years. Money is really, really tight so was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a kit that will keep me occupied for a while but for a maximum of £5. Im not keen on buying from ebay and everything just seems daunting, I want to stitch something I love to give me a reason to get up in the morning but just not sure where to look. Thanks

Hi Bubbles, welcome to the thread :D Sorry to hear you have been having a rough time :(

What sort of designs do you like to stitch?

I have tons of smaller kits in my stash which I will never get round to doing and would be more than happy to send you one of them if you like :)

Thats the reason I love it so much -once you pick up that bit of fabric and a needle everything else seems to melt away and the hours just fly by!
I hope you post on here as often as you can- even if its just for a natter ...and BOY can we natter :p

Totally agree though, when I'm engrossed in something, it totally takes over and I just want to stitch all the time :)
