    Hi ladies.

I done a little stitching yesterday, felt good after 2 weeks of none at all. Admittedly most of my time was spent pondering if/how to modify the colours of the birds in the design because I don't like the look of them :D

I got a little bit of stitching done yesterday. I'm visiting my family at the moment and had most of yesterday free, so stitched on my 'Cakes' for a bit and watched Come Dine With Me online.

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • I've been in Scotland to watch the racing this weekend that's why I haven't been around.

For stitching I did a little bit of the christmas card I was doing on the way home yesterday, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to get into as it's 18ct Aida, I'm not used to that. :o

kezbaby know what you mean about 18 count, that's what rocky point is on, it's completed filled in with no aida used as background so it is very time consuming - 5 years! (although I have had 2 children and done lots of other stitching in between :) )

I have done no stitching as I finished my scarf at Busy fingers class last night (pics to follow at some point) and have been back to school today then busy planning tonight so I'm afraid I will keep popping on to check up on you all but my progress will be slower now term has started. :( Oh well.

On a positive note I am going on a "Crafts for Christmas " stitching day on Sunday so am really looking forward to that:D

    Happy stitching everyone.

18 count is my fabric of choice although I will use 14 ct if it comes in a kit that I really want. I've not attempted a 28 ct linen type fabric yet - probably a step too far ;)
  • Layout completed over the weekend - learnt a lesson though don't try doing layout stitching in bad light late at night as you spend the next day unpicking it all and restitching.

DD also helped to decide the stitching order of all the characters, seeing as it is for her. My mum has also rediscovered her Christmas stitching and is getting it finished for her.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

I use 28 count evenweave a lot, stitching over two threads, so it works out as 14 count. I quite like working with it...though you have to keep counting!! :D

MadDogWoman - How to you do your layout? I only mark the centre lines, both horizontal and vertical, then work out from there....been wondering if I should sew more guidelines, or invest in a fabric pen. There's a few folk who use one on here.

Right, must get to bed, up far too late tonight!! Been working on my computer course...have a tutorial tomorrow/today and had to finish the last exercise!!

Night, night...maybe tomorrow I will get some sewing done!
    :o

  • I think it's because it's asking for two threads rather than one on a previous project I did.

    Morning ladies
I stayed up late to finish my Thank you card last night (will try and get a photo on later) so pleased with that, took less than 4 nights so getting quicker :)
I just need to decide what i write in it.
Back to the Grandparent Touch a Heart tonight.

I have been busy lately - DS2 is loving being at school and youngest started nursery school yesterday and has settled in already. I got in at 9am and had all the housework doen by 9.30  I never reealised how much a person could get done without interruptions (don't tell hubby though):rotfl:

I only have a small section of the Meerkats to get done, determined to complete today. Going to watch Homes under the Hammer :o with a cuppa and see how much I can get done.
