Hi ladies.
No stitching done this week so far as hubby is on hols so we have been out everyday and by the time we get home I'm too knackered to pick up my stitching
I'm feeling mixed emotions today as I had a job interview for a job I really want!
On the one hand it will be great to work again as I haven't worked for 2 1/2 years so the money will be very welcome.....on the other hand I won't be able to do much stitching but I guess that just means I'll appreciate it more when I do
Hope you got on well with your interview. When my first husband died I went back to work after 13 year break from full time work and 6 from part time.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
Thanks sweetcarer. It seemed to go well but then so have all the other interviews that came to nothing but I am thinking positive that this one will be the one that changes all that:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Hello everyone
Been to Bridlington for a few days and had a lovely time. Little boy been a bit of a !!!!!! but think he is ready for his back to school routine (or at least I hope that's the reason.
Stitching wise I have managed to do about 2 half a charlie and lola cards. I started one then dd got her hands on my highlighter:eek: so I had to quickly wash it, it has come out:cool: So i had to start another one while that one dried. I took my knittign with me too but haven't touched it. Bought some more wool while we were away though:o I didn't realise how cheap Boyes was for haberdashery things so will be going to the localish one in future:D
Right now I have caught up with everyone's post I suppose I better unpack the car (just to get my stitching bag out of course!!)
Happy stitching

When I've finished a thread and I've only a few stitches left on it, then I use it to do a stained glass window picture. Here is my one in progress and one that's been finished.
I have a ton of grey thread left over from some project or other so I use that as an outline (free stitch that to the shape I please), when the grey runs out I shall use browns or other 'window frame' type colours. I then use my odd threads to stitch random 'squares' in the window. When it's full I outline in black. I always have a window on the go, I just keep it with whatever kit I'm doing at the moment. They do take quite a long time to finish although sometimes I go through my stash and use up the oddments of thread which seem to accumulate there

What a fab idea - might have to steal it and use it with kids in school as a long term project, they have a golden time on a Friday and are always looking for things they can do and continue from week to week and this would be easy to set up
Am back off all my hols now and quickly trying to get bak into teacher/mummy mode as we have training tomorrow and kids start back next tuesday. Fillmore crosss stitch for ds is nearly done!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

I've decided to do this one:
Now it says 45 x 40cm of white linen with 11 threads per centimetre. Stitch Count: 180H x 153w
I don't want to do this one on Linen, but on evenweave, so what's the alternative count? Is it the same as for 16ct Aida from yesterday's question?
Also don't have any of the colours so a shopping list for Across Town I believe.0 -
I've got a list of 23 threads to order from Across-Town Stitching for this project, which means I don't qualify for their cheaper rate.
Anyone got 22 colours that they need ordering? I'm happy to order them so that we can benefit from the discount, which you can then pay me back for them and I'll post them out to you free of charge.0 -

Its rather lovely! I like it.
Linen... if i remember rightly, you calculate the no. of threads per inch by multiplying by 2.5 and then halving it...i.e. 11*2.5 = 27.5, so this would be like 14ct aida... Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure this is what i did last time
If you want to double check, there's a check on this site... http://home.comcast.net/~kathydyer/project_size.html
Now, stop showing me lovely things that I want to buy!!!

Thanks so much for looking for me I really appreciate it! I lurrrrrrrve the Peter Rabbit pattern I think it definitely meets the traditional criteria whilst being timeless (I've got loads of Beatrix Potter books and figurines from when I was little!)
I can;) you if you would like to send over your address.
