  • Thanks Ruth_Honey, I've found this one:

Taking on your points about the evenweave, which size Evenweave would I need to keep this kit the same size? I don't think it'll look as 'professional' on aida this time.

32 count will make it the same size.

Can you get to Cheney Manor industrial estate easily? There's a big warehouse-type place there that might have evenweave pieces you can look at and see which feels/looks better. They also have some sale kits that might be of interest. Can think of the shop name at the moment, but I know my Mum has it in her stitch 'bible' so I can find out. Doh! Just remembered you also have a Hobbycraft in Swindon too. They must have rolls of evenweave you can look at! Silly me...LOL!

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • Thanks so much Ruth_Honey! I can indeed get to Cheney Manor Industrial Estate easily, so I'll have a lookie on Google to see where you mean. ;)

I have a Hobbycraft, but it's the other side of town, which means two buses for me. :(

Can't find the kit any cheaper than £23.99 at Black sheep wools.
  • Hmm just looked at some ew prices and it's more than the kit for the size I want... Maybe I'll stick with the 16count in the kit. :o

Kez, I have a couple of BP birth sampler charts that I could ;);)

Here are some quick piccies I took just now of the covers...sorry, they're not very great, too tired to get the exposures right tonight...but you get the idea.

Let me know if you want a ;);)

I have sewn them using 14 count Aida...still a pair of my UFOs, though done more than I thought I had!! Perhaps I could finish them off soon...now that would be a good idea! :o

Was going to stay on the 'puter for a while, but too tired tonight.

    Night, night.

There's some evenweave -Jubilee 28 Count White. 39" x 55" (100cm x 140cm) -in the Wimblebees sale. I know it's a slightly higher thread count than you were after. This'll mean the design will come up slightly bigger than on 16ct/32ct, but it's a big piece, so you'll have plenty. After discount it'll be £8.31 (plus P+P).

  • I've found a similar design in one of my cross-stitch books, so I'll price that one up and see which would be more cost effective. :)

Thanks for the kind offer Keiss, I'll keep it in mind. :)

    Hi ladies.

No stitching done this week so far as hubby is on hols so we have been out everyday and by the time we get home I'm too knackered to pick up my stitching :o

I'm feeling mixed emotions today as I had a job interview for a job I really want!
On the one hand it will be great to work again as I haven't worked for 2 1/2 years so the money will be very welcome.....on the other hand I won't be able to do much stitching but I guess that just means I'll appreciate it more when I do :)
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • I found these two:

Wow they are fantastic I love the one on the top with just the poppies on - what magazine did you get that from - it is an old one or a newish version? Thanks so much for looking for me I really appreciate it! I lurrrrrrrve the Peter Rabbit pattern I think it definitely meets the traditional criteria whilst being timeless (I've got loads of Beatrix Potter books and figurines from when I was little!)

I love some of those designs and think my mum would too - however I am pretty pants when it comes to ebay! And I dun think that my budget will stretch that far as once I have got it framed it will be getting quite expensive then! :(
    Keep on comping!
