Hi guys, loving the polar bears and your lake piccy is coming along great louise
I managed to get a bit done this week too, was really dark here today so excuse the dodgy lighting in the photo. I'm now onto the lion, then i got the fun grass to do :rotfl:
Judellie, i love those tigers so striking on the black, hmm they would go very well with my lionsCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -
Louise and nmm your projects are coming on really well. Judellie I really like your white tigers too, though they must be hard on black fabric.
DH has lined up my next project for me it's a wizard and dragon on 16 count black aida. He bought the kit for himself to do ages ago because he liked the picture so much, but he's now realised that he's never started, let alone finished a cross stitch project and maybe a massive project on black is not the place to start. In fact he's decided he doesn't want to try stitching at all if I'll just stitch it up for him...
I don't normally stitch on aida, I much prefer evenweve, and I'm considering getting some black evenweve to replace the black aida in the kit. What do you lot think, will either make much difference in the difficulty? And what are the dimensions kits like for thread provision? I wouldn't want to run out because I used 28 count evenweve (equivalent to 14 count) rather than the included 16 count aida. though it is DMC so I guess I can top u from my stash anything I run out of. WHat does everyone think?0 -
Here's where I was on the 14th January, when I last posted the link:
Here I am at the end of today:
I apologise for the size of the pictures, here is the link to the rest of the pictures:

Everyone else's projects are looking fantastic! :j0 -
Wow, some fabulous stitching there ladies.
Thank you to whoever recommended across town stitching. I'm going to do a Christmas stocking from a very old Cross Stitch Crazy for my daughter and was slightly put off by the cost. We are off to start a baby sign language course this morning but when I get back I'll be placing my order so thanks again.

Morning all
ooohhhh lots of lovely work going on again.....Im loving those white tigers.... I did hubby these 2 ages ago... so those on black deffinitely caught my eye *even though I have another 2 tiger designs to do*
ooohhh and Im loving that greyhound design as we used to have a big tan and white one called "ruppert" :rotfl:
ooohhhh and I love those polar bears too *not that we have had any of those*:D.....I guess Im an animal kinda gal..
*Louise* -you are really cracking on with the lake...what design is the next in line for you to do?
elliep -get your hubby to give his kit a go -my hubby has done 3 so far and a 4th nearly done ...he used to find it really good for switching off from work and unwinding .
I would swap from aida too if I was doing it... sew-along have some black linen in...I have just received mine for my santa -its Zweigart cashel linen 28ct ..... what is the stitch count on the pic? this fabric is a "fat quarter" or - 19.5"X27.5"
I can't imagine it making too much difference -and as you say -if its DMC threads you can top them up..
Im loving santa too..... he is sooo lovely and old fashioned
Right enough waffle -we have 3" of snow and its still going so there is a perfect reason to stay indoors and sew (if I needed one)
Happy sewing everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
morning all, lovely tigers eveyone, have hurt my shoulder but lucky it is not the arm i use for stitching so i can still sew, that will teach me for carrying big bags of sand ! have just got the back stitch to finish on my cat and then i may do one of the dictionary ones to go in my kitchen although first i should maybe practice for my theory driving test at night rather than stitching!13 in 2013 challenge 9/130
