My celtic ladies all looked pregnant on the charts -so I "slimmed them down" -if only it were that easy in real life....
Hahahahaha - the stitching version of being 'digitally enhanced'!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
She is coming along nicely MRSM, can't see her taking too much longer now, is there any more at the bottom, or is it just that top and right side to be completed?
I tend to change bits i they annoy me, although not too often - like shelly I prefer the more rounded edge look as opposed to blocks.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thanks everyone for the replies! Glad it's not just me who will modify a project so that it 'looks right'
No-one else knows unless I tell them so as long as it looks right to me that's what matters.
Now I'm off to google for a 'stitch count ruler' that MummyClaire mentioned. Didn't know they existed and if they do what I think they do I [STRIKE]want one[/STRIKE] need one :rotfl:
Edited to add ~ Found a free printable stitch count ruler if anyone is interested http://www.countrycrossstitchkits.co.uk/acatalog/Stitch-Count-Rulers.html:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Blimey - I mentioned earlier in the thread that skeins from Hobbycraft were 79p (I had to buy 2 a couple of weeks back) well when I looked at the receipt hubby had from his 'emergency' purchase last night - they are now 85p each
It will really need to be an emergency before I buy threads there again.
Incidentally....guess what arrived in today's post?? Yup, all my threads...I now have 5 more skeins of 647 lol :rotfl::rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. MummyClaire wrote: »Smileyt - i have been to 2 stitch and craft show before - i think they were at excel .... it depends what you want there as to if there are bargins. sometime its nice just to look at all the stuff....when i first went i had only been stitching for a few months i think so didn't have a lot of stuff and realise all these forums / facebook pages, etc all existed so it was nice to find out about fabric pens, different shape and size hoops, light magnifiers, stitch count rulers, ect and you can get some kits at good prices although i would not say they were cheap !
.. just remember it is a Stitch AND CRAFT show and i found that there was more craft stalls then stitching stalls so only about 5 / 6 stalls actually with cross stitch stuff .
it makes for a good day out though so if you have the money to spare its nice for the experience of going and seeing whats around and what you "need".. i think the 1st one i went to i managed to spend £50 (or it might have been more like £100)
xxx
Thanks, Mummyclaire ..... yes, I know it is very easy to spend way more than you intended at these things! I think perhaps I will stick to the one here in Manchester as I can then justify (sort of :rotfl:) spending the train fare to London instead - or some of it, at least! I was just wondering if anyone would reply and say, "It's fantastic, you absolutely must go!".
I do knitting and crochet too, as well as cross-stitch. There aren't enough hours in the day, especially as I am extremely skilled in the art of procrastination! Far more skilled in that than in any of the above-mentioned crafts, I might add!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Everyones UFOs are looking amazing, afraid I've still not finished my polar bears but I've posted a piccy to hopefully spur me on.:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
