Oooh, Louise, looks promising!May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -

Morning all! Can I join you?
I generally hang around the disability and benefit boards - and have only just found this place!
I have ASD which leaves me housebound for really long periods. I started cross-stitching some years ago with a little card kit that mum got free from Readicut. ...I rapidly got hooked!
I love the fact that I can put it away for a few weeks when I can't even hold a needle and pick it up later.
I am currently designing a couple of projects - I am planning one for myself, and I know how I want that to look - It'll say 'Let eveything that has breath praise Yahweh' (a quote from the Psalms) in the middle, and there will be people all around playing instruments and singing. Lots of bright colours....Then I am trying to plan something for a friend. It is really complicated - I want to include her family in the design, plus the Australian flag and some other stuff related to her and her family - which I haven't decided on yet!0 -

Hi Prinzessilein,
welcome to the cafe, the more the merrier. I must warn you that we are a very nosey lot and will "expect" to see some pics of your works of art !
I don't know anything about ASD but I do know that many of us on this thread have some sort of debilitating condition (mine's depression). I have found cross stitch (and other crafts) to be both relaxing and stimulating - I know it sounds contradictory but it works for me !

Have been so busy catching up on housework and looking after hubby so haven't had time to wash and press it but will get hubby to put it on here later on. Any advice on how to use Flicker anyone? I can't do links yet so may have to put picture into a post- can't you tell i know nothing about what I am talking about?:rotfl:
Anyway got to get a wriggle on as have had a nap with the kids and they now need feeding! Stitch and btich later:ACross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Hi everyone!
I'm back from my week away and had a wonderful time. My birthday was great & I was spolit by everyone there. Even the pancake house gave me balloons & put decorations in my drink!
Just catching up with all the posts. Might have to read in stages as there's quite a few pages to get through. We want to go to florida, see winnie the pooh and do lots of cheap shopping
I love the idea of Las Vegas but just think id be really nervous because of how busy it looks! And to be honest I don't know much about San francisco so ill google it in a bitI hope you both have a great time, I don't blame you for planning what you're going to do already...ill be exactly the same
Ruth Happy 30th I hope you have a great break away
San Franscisco is a wonderful place, though. If I could move to anywhere abroad, it would be there. Such a chilled out, fab city!I've finally finished my peacock which was May's challenge. For a small item ( 5x7) there was an awful lot of detail ! It just needs pressing now. The pic doesn't do it justice, the colours are brighter and the gold thread shows up more "in real life"
I've now started the backstitch on Mum's UFO for my June challenge. Can you believe my 86 y/o Mum stitched this ? Her eyes are not quite sharp enough for the detailed back stitch.
Linda xx
Love your Mum's pic too. She's very talented!
Getting called for tea now, so will pop back later....Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
