Eric is adorable!
I'm on the council house list at the moment (I need to be moved to a ground floor place - the stairs have finally beaten me!) and am looking at a place this morning to see if I want to bid on it.
But I'm hoping to get my graph paper out and start sketching out one of my new projects this afternoon.....It'll mean rooting through a couple of boxes for some of my 'ideas' books. I know there is a pattern for a man playing the guitar in there somewhere - and I know I can adapt that for the woman-playing-guitar that I want!
I'm going to have to work out how to put pictures on here! Mum has a digital camera...I just need to work out how to get the pics from there onto the computer! (I am a total techno-phobe!)0 -
I was very good over the weekend. No actual stitching but I sorted out my cross stitch trunk and Mum's finished kits. I filed or binned the old charts and plan to wind all the decent lengths of silks onto bobbins.
I also discovered several of her UFOs (mainly backstitch), I reckon I could finish them off over a few weeks, so that's my July challenge sorted. (It might sound a bit odd but I find this sort of project is very therapeutic to relieve the symptoms of my depression.)
Planning to stitch while watching Wimbledon most afternoons for the next 2 weeks. The weather is supposed to get warmer and I'm no good in the sun, so the garden (my other passion) will be tended morning and evening.
It's great to see everyone's pics, and also good to welcome new members to the board.
Have an enjoyable Monday everyone.
Linda xx
PS: As my username is ERICSMUM, I thought I'd share a pic of my Eric:
Awwww Eric is gorgeous!!!
I'm sooooo jealous, I want to be stitching while watching wimbledon too. Thank goodness I can watch the catch ups tonight, and thank goodness I no longer have to suffer the football on tv :j
Fingers crossed for NadalSorry I'm not being patriotic and supporting Murray (I never do!)

12/12/12 challenge-[STRIKE]Season's Greeting Newton's Law[/STRIKE] Christmas polar bear-finished on time!
Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Blimey Maria, you have been busy. It looks great!
Also what you said about animals having proper names made me smileWe have a cat called Lily but we didn't name her, she was called that when we got her and to be honest I don't really like the name
I would have called her something else....don't ask me what though, just anything but Lily.
I also had a hamster called Henry once.
I would dearly love a boy Pug who I could call Percy. Hubby is having none of it so I have to make do with the Percy pug on my nintendo DS along with Doris the dalmatian :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Ooooo Wimbledon...:j:j:j
I forget how much I look forward to it at this time of year lol *buys in the strawberries*
I will be dropping DS2 at nursery then back in time for it starting at 1pm. DD will happily watch it with me.

Just having a wee peak online - boss on holiday - so why not :rotfl:I wonder if I could smuggle some stitching in.
Everyone is doing so well. Well done Maria in finishing the MrMen. Nice to see the picture of Eric - he is a beauty (does he annoy you when you are stitching - Sam does she keeps wanting to attack the threads and trys to scratch on my frame - think it is just kitten playing as yet). Welcome to the newbies - remember we are nosey and like to see what you are up to.
Worked a bit of golden earth at weekend. Will post picture tonight. Trying to keep motivated for it. Will be working on some new stuff soon tho - got my parents 40th and parent in laws 50th coming up soon (September & October). Got the patterns sorted - just to get the material and threads - have to wait till next wages day.
Happy stitching - hope all is well in your part of the world.
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
Hello again - sorry I haven't posted for ages - I don't know where the time goes. I've lost some of the motivation for my dreamcatcher - i've made a fiar bit of progress but find that as I haven't had any big chunks of time to stitch (generally the odd ten minute here and there) I seem to make very little visible progress and I get a bit disheartened!
I've started another small project which is easy to dip in an out of but I need to regain my mojo on the dreamcatcher!
I can't believe how gorgeous all you work is and you stitch so fast!! I'm starting to think I need to write myself a timetable and allocate time to all the things that need doing and also some stitching time! Anyway I'm off to quickly put the washing away, empty the dishwasher and try and squeeze in 15 mins of stitching before the school run and then onto swimming lessons!

omg...is anyone watching the Federer/Falla game...:eek::j
jlp - you definitely have to allocate yourself some stitching time! I do most of mine in the evening. The way I see it, hubby finishes work at 5pm..why should I slog the evening away!!
