There's a lovely patchwork fabric shop in Weedon just south of Daventry, and Daventry has the most plentiful and cheapest charity shops around
. Hope you enjoyed / are enjoying your trip and centre parks
.
Actually, we ended up having a great time in Northampton. We went there because Mum & her boyfriend know someone who lives near there and thought they'd visit on the way to Daventry. As we'd never met their friend, we said we'd be happy to spend a few hours wandering round the town. We lucked out as there was a free music concert on in the square, which was really good! The Levellers played, along with some other bands (need to find out who they were) and the sun was out. Spent a while watching the kids run through the fountains fully clothed  and just sat enjoying the music. Didn't even get to Home Bargains in the end, but I didn't mind.
Went to Daventry afterwards for the night. Stayed in the De Vere, which was nice, had a swim in the morning, then had brekkie in a cafe in Daventry centre before driving to Center Parcs.
Center Parcs was brilliant. We did falconry & I held an eagle! Did lots of swimming and wandering round the forest. Took LOADS of photos of various bunnies, ducks, squirrels and birds. Had a BBQ for my birthday and had lots of pressies. Mum stitched me a Humphreys corner kit, but she didn't have time to frame it, so she's taken in home to frame it and I'll bring it back next visit.
Already planning another trip to CP. Might try the Longleat one next. :Tmaria_and_the_imps wrote: »just popped on to say that mr men chould be finished tonight if i ever get to sit down lol welcome home ruth and welcome to Prinzessilein

Hi everyone, can I join in?
I'm a serial UFOer and have never ever finished a project. I'm determined to finish them and use them as pressies this year (very MSE I think).
I'll get all my projects out later and get photos up.0 -

I've spent the whole weekend not-studying and cross stitching instead. Did anyone else stitch the weekend away?May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -
I am so jealous of your progress, Louise! I spent the weekend stitching white onto an off-white background... look at your project go!May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.

I was very good over the weekend. No actual stitching but I sorted out my cross stitch trunk and Mum's finished kits. I filed or binned the old charts and plan to wind all the decent lengths of silks onto bobbins.
I also discovered several of her UFOs (mainly backstitch), I reckon I could finish them off over a few weeks, so that's my July challenge sorted. (It might sound a bit odd but I find this sort of project is very therapeutic to relieve the symptoms of my depression.)
Planning to stitch while watching Wimbledon most afternoons for the next 2 weeks. The weather is supposed to get warmer and I'm no good in the sun, so the garden (my other passion) will be tended morning and evening.
It's great to see everyone's pics, and also good to welcome new members to the board.
Have an enjoyable Monday everyone.

Wow, if anyone in my family lived there, I'd be visiting twice a year! Would love to see the rockies too.I've spent the whole weekend not-studying and cross stitching instead. Did anyone else stitch the weekend away?
I wish! I was busy all day Saturday and yesterday I was far too tired to stitch. I would've made loads of mistakes & spent all of today unpicking.
I had fun on Saturday though. There was a free show in Leicester Square (West End Live) so we went to watch that for a while. We met up with some friends, went for pancakes then went to watch Dreamboats & Petticoats at the theatre. Oh! And we took loads of photos of the elephant parade. :T
I didn't even get chance to stitch on holiday, so I've been a week without stitching now.I was very good over the weekend.
