May your needles stay threaded, may all your stitches be even, and may the gods of anti-tangles be your friends!
    and also to you!

Hi Bubbles, sounds like you've had a hell of a few weeks. Funerals are horrible and all the people you need to talk to but have nothing to say apart from the obvious... sorry, was only there a few months ago with my nan. I hope it went as well as it could.

my neck has been playing up so far less stitching and computer time for me, i'm so behind on catching up i cant remember where i was and i'm away next week... so if you'd like to post a summary when you've caught up that would be great! :D

not much stitching eh? :T only the patchwork heart (took me nearly 2 weeks!), and all the rest!! don't be so hard on yourself eh?

take care of yourself bubbles, and hugs to you and anyone else who wants needs them.

    * ooh, 5 (intermitent) hours of poking the computer seems to have paid off. it's not crashed since i've come on here and it seems to not be dropping text either. fingers crossed.

You get a number of designs to fiddle with but I took the basic figures and 're-dressed' them colourwise to represent our own clothes, and my hair lol.

In this months No1 cross stitcher - issue 228 August 2010 - there is a free kit. The kit is a surprise either Be Lucky (a tattoo style swallow) or Vintage Sampler (home sweet home). I got my subscription copy today adn got the swallow but would of prefered the home sweet home - is anyone wanting swap?

i'm trying not to buy any more mags till i reduce my list... but would dearly love to stitch both, esp the swallow. did you find a swap partner? do you think they could be done with oddments or are they quite large? (wondering if i could get & do them with just the chart somehow;))

Heading to Northampton (for Home Bargains!) and Daventry first. Staying overnight there, then off to Sherwood Forest Monday morning.

 someone actually WANTS to go to NORTHAMPTON? very strange! i work in the town centre. Home Bargains is pretty much the only decent thing in town though. There's a lovely patchwork fabric shop in Weedon just south of Daventry, and Daventry has the most plentiful and cheapest charity shops around :D. Hope you enjoyed / are enjoying your trip and centre parks :).

It amazes me, seeing pictures of other people's big cross stitching projects (like Shelly's) at how people seem to be able to do their projects so methodically. I always feel like I am bouncing back and forth all the time. How do y'all get your cross stitching done in block chunks? Lately I've been sticking to one square at a time, but if the colour goes beyond the boundaries I follow it, if that makes any sense.

My girl got an arm tonight! It's 4 AM, though, so if there's to be a picture it'll be taken tomorrow. I hope nobody's lost her needle in between the couch cushions!
May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away. :)

I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime!

I tend to choose designs/kits that have blocks of colours so it's easy for me.
For instance....as beautiful as Louises 'Lady of the Lake' is I couldn't see myself ever stitching something like that. I like designs that have lots of small things to stitch that make one big thing.....do I make sense? :o :rotfl:

Also I like to start stitching from the top left corner and keep to one area, working my way across the fabric.
I won't stitch willy nilly all over the fabric..like branches of a tree..I stick to block areas.

I find it hard to explain but I hope it made some sense :o
