Been finishing off my packing today because tomorrow I'm off on holiday!!! :j It's my 30th birthday on Tuesday, so I'm off to Center Parcs with some friends. Will take my netbook & try and check in during the week. Taking some stitching too, though doubt I'll get much done. Plan on lots of swimming, relaxing and eating pancakes & BBQ food!
Have a great week everyone!
Have a lovely holiday0 -
Hello all - would like to join you! Have read some of posts, 170-odd pages bit daunting right now, very inspiring. Been a stitcher for over 15 years, done all sorts but hardly any since last summer - got a 3-year-old & an 8-month old, so very little time to stitch - boo! Things getting easier now, so going to start again - got loads I'd like to do for Christmas etc.
Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely work!

Darn it! Can't get the motorbike started. Must be a flat battery. Rain check?
Actually baking cupcakes at the moment. I know it's far too late for that, but fell asleep this afternoon and lost all track of time. At least I'm almost packed. Got a couple of things still drying, and tomorrow will have a quick brekkie before getting picked up. Heading to Northampton (for Home Bargains!) and Daventry first. Staying overnight there, then off to Sherwood Forest Monday morning.
Having a BBQ on Tuesday & asked people to wear 80s clothing, so that should be interesting. Keep your fingers crossed that we have nice weather. Have packed optimistically, but threw in a brolley, just in case...:rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I have been busy with the dreaded knotty flower fairy and have completed 3 of four french knot flowers:j Just the last one to do then I can wash, press, photograph and get hubby to put it on here as I am too thick to work it out plus when you are married to a programmer you don't tend to bother learning
Needless to say I can now do a mean french knot and am very quick at them too:rotfl:Did 153 in a few hours today, ordinary cross stitch will feel very strange when i start my Charlie and Lola card.

I'll wave at you from Center Parcs then! Don't envy you doing all those french knots. Even hubby knows how much I hate doing them.

Hope you have a lovely time :T:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I know I'm late completing the peacock that was my May challenge but I'm not bothered - been concentrating on the garden.
Anyway I finished it last night (one eye on the UK v USA match) and rinsed it to get the "magic pencil" lines out. But as soon as it hit the water, the gold thread I had couched round the edge of the pattern s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d so much that it made a scallop shape between every couching stitch. Tried pulling it all into shape while damp and again this morning now it's dry but it still looks a mess.
I'm going to take it all out and replace it with backstitch. It's only a 5 x 7 inch picture so it won't take long, I'm just a bit disappointed ! I must say that this peacock has taken me ages to stitch considering how small it is, there is so much detail. Anyway I'll get it done and then post a pic of the finished article.
My June project is to finish a kit my mum gave to me. She is so impatient and can't be bothered fiddling with the back stitch and french knots - that becomes my job. She is 86 so she does very well to stitch quite large 14 count pictures.
Happy Sunday everyone.
