Thank you for all your replies to my post.

The kit I got instead of an easter egg is "a row of sugar plum mice". the design is by Bothy Threads and I got it from sewandso (where I get the majority of my kits and stitching supplies!)

Some very kind person offered me their fabric marker pen but to be honest I would be too scared to mark my work but many thanks for your very kind offer. what lovely people you all are.

I have just ordered some easy count guideline so I will let you all know how I get on with it. I must have been dreaming about magic aida and
marking my thread because when I woke up this morning, I remembered that I had seen a product last year but I could not for the life of me remember what it was called but I had a brainwave as I knew I had created a search for it on ebay and lo and behold, there it was ! Im not sure I will start my mice tonight as I am quite tired and think I will fall asleep on the sofa the moment I get home but I am hoping to get the mice started tomorrow.

Someone who mentioned about magic aida said that they wished it came in evenweave as well. I agree ! i hope they do bring it out in evenweave soon. that woudl make is so much easier.

    happy stitching everyone.

Found this in an Austrialian site

    http://www.countedcharts.com.au/p/1016460/dmc-magic-guide-evenweave-25-count---white---per-12-metre.html

    and according to DMC website

Don’t forget Magic Guide is also available in Aida and Evenweave fabrics.

Right -being :A Im off to get on with some more of my "golden earth" -who now has lips :j....

23spiral -that is looking great :j -fractional stitches are easy once you get use to them. The best thing to do is look at what angle you are trying to form..then do the the small bit first and then the strand that runs from corner to corner (if its a half stitch)
Just googled and got this -which makes much more sense than me :rotfl:-hope it helps

We i noticed that when i had a look around the dmc site after posting yesterday- great that you found it in Australia but i over £15 per meter (plus postage) is a bit expensive imo- i'll just stick with a ruler and washout pen for now.

Also i see people talking about 99p store charts, we dont have any 99p stores up here, but it's reminded me about 2 xmas's ago i was helping my dad choose stuff for mum's presents and in Pound Land there was Aida 14 count- it wasn't a brand name i'd herd of but told him that was a good deal so he bought her a pack (at the time i was only buying kits- but i now wish i'd bought a few packs for myself).

She came across it in her stitching box this weekend and decided to open it and get rid of the packaging. It probably nearly A1 size and inside was also a chart for a bird. No threads but £1 for that much fabric is great (even if it is a bit cheap feeling, but once its in a frame who knows). Shame ive not seen it since but i always keep my eyes peeled.

All this talk o pound shops and 99p stores is making me quite jealous!!:rotfl:

We don't have any rounds here, but the next time I go through to Glasgow I will definitely be keeping an eye out (the place is hoachin wi pound shops lol)

Anyway, not got any stitching done today, have cleaned the house from top to bottom and scanned some charts into the comp while the kids were busy - will get on with mine tonight, almost finished the next section, have been fair flying through it this week :) Can't do any tomorrow, my mum has asked me to make a nappy cake as a gift for a friend, so that'll take a wee while.

yugh. work was not good. :( i was looking forward to a girl coming back to work in my office, but she's now gone off with depression. that's the third person in a year! that just added to down week and i couldnt concentrate and did very little really. i really do feel for her, but it makes me wonder why i struggle on sometimes. (odd as it may seem, the 'reward' of coming on here kept me going, though the idea of packing work in to stitch nearly won too!)

I do want to start stitching (and finish!) a design on linen for my husband. It'll be our 8th wedding anniversary at the end of May & I want to stitch either 'Everyone brings joy' http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=22105&ww=1 or 'Welcome to the nuthouse' http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=22101&ww=1

ooh, Ruth, these are really nice! i like Everyone Brings Joy best! good luck with your choice.

Thank you so much MrsMcawber, that's really helpful - both your explanation and the link. i get very confused at times and that can stop me doing anything at all, so i Really appreciate the different explanations.:T

Maria - i hope your grandad gets better soon. *hugs to you and yours*

Oh actually OH might be going there next week, does anyone know if poundland sells these kits too?

Emzy - i had a look today for you and didnt see any in our poundland. Though they had some nice looking packs of fancy papers for crafting. but i resisted.

I'm sorry to hear there aren't many 99p Stores out there. Perhaps i should set up a 99p Stores 'personal shopping & postage' service!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Wow those patterns are gorgeous, particularly the last one.

    Congratulations on the lips!

I havent been on for a couple of days, if there was anyone wanting to be added to the list pm me as I cant face going back through anything. I havent got much stitching done but get this, I went out today! I went to Dainty Toys to get a DMC thread I have ran out of and they had every colour but the one I needed, typical! Im gonna try and substitute a different shade for it. My mum bumped into a neighbour when she was hanging out washing and she cares for her husband who had a stroke and was complaining he only drinks one kind of juice and can only get it from Asda a few miles away and she has no transport and cant leave him so as asda isnt far from Dainty Toys I offered to go for her. I chickeed out of going in though, I stayed in the car with the dog while my parents went in but I was starting to think I would never be capable of that so although it was only something little I feel proud of myself for the first time in ages. So I didnt get the thread I needed but I did get one of the fabric markers which were discussed on here and am happy with that.

    Evening all

I have stopped sewing for the evening.. and she now has most of her nose and a chin :j...
I also realised that hubby has a golf competition on sat and sunday ..so he will get fed in the clubhouse after he finishes the game on Saturday (so no cooking for me that night ) and he won't be in until tea time on Sunday.... so Im planning on planting my bum on the sofa and hopefully I will get plenty done then :D
Hubby is taking the new charts to work tomorrow and getting them copied ready for me :T

Maria -hope grandad is on the mend soon
Ruth_Honey-thats really good news on the motorbike kit..what great service too:T
Bubbles -well done on that break through today... there is nothing "little" about it...so pat yourself on the back :j
Right Im off for now..have a good noght everyone -especially those of you that sit up until the wee hours...

Im back.... some post popped up whilst I was waffling :p
Dorastar...hope you feel better after a sleep...

by the way...have any of my nudgenudgewinkwinks arrived yet ? I assume not as I know you would mention!!! If they haven't arrived by next weekend let me know and I will investigate;)
